Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Side bar. I just want to take a moment. And express my appreciation for Boise State and ND football coaches, and their teams. Both show the proper genuine emotions, as well appreciation for the time and place of which they are in. That isnt circumstantial. That comes with work and training.

Anytime the mic is hot, that QB tells me everything I need to know. Same for BS player.

Supposedly ASU is appealing their lost to Texas on a blown call by the officiating crew. It’s not the targeting call but the missed field goal that was partially blocked and still bounced through. According to the rule book the field goal should have counted thus ASU would’ve won the game in regulation.
They don’t have a snowball’s chance but I love it. It just shines more light on incompetence of the refs🤬
Why does everyone keep saying "incompetence of the refs"?? It's not incompetence, it's corruption. The bigger the game and the more money involved, the more blatant the calls are. The refs cheat.

Yeah, I thought someone would try to carry water.

For those that don't keep up with stats.

34 receptions, 455 yards and 5 TDs (less yards than Bru this season)

He's entering his 7th year in college.

I’m not carrying water? I’m providing a little context. No idea if he’s actually good or not.

that injury ruined him, unfortunately. If Texas couldn't get production out of him I don't think there's much to be had

Yeah the weird thing to me was he sat out 2022 with the injury (happened before the season) then 2023 he only played in one game. I couldn't find if he had gotten injured again or what.

Call me weird but I feel like maybe a bit of karma after how he handled transferring to us only to then change his mind in less than 2 weeks and transfer to Texas. Maybe Texas told him to move on when he went to Nebraska...not sure, but then after Nebraska gave him a shot to be leaving on them after they finally turned the corner and are heading in the right direction with their QB returning too...seems selfish to me.

Yep..There we’re a lot of posters that had already counted him gone and referring to him in the past tense..I wasn’t one of them..🙌
I thought he might be. Still don’t like him stringing us along. And it probably means we have to do this same dance with him next year. Not gonna borrow worry tho.

For ‘25, let’s ride.

Issue with Haslam's is with their money comes too much control. They want it to be about them.
Bill doesn't strike me that way as much as Jimmy.

There is a great podcast that Bill Haslam co-hosts with Phil Bredesen called, "You Might Be Right." They take a look at certain issues and present from both sides...the theme being that we as a country need to stop being so divisive and listen to the other side. It's really good.

Anyway, that's a tangent, but my point was, he comes across on that show as being very humble and thoughtful, much moreso than his brother.

LISTEN HERE YOU WATER CARRYING...

Just messing. But I saw most the articles stating that too "2nd leading receiver" and I was like...that doesn't mean much if your numbers weren't great...and they weren't considering our fanbase has been down on what Bru did this season.

I mean 5 TDs is good I guess, but he honestly vanished after the Illinois game until UCLA where we had 89 yards.

I'm salty how he did us in 2022. But him bailing lead to us getting Bru instead so we came out ahead I think.

He got outsmarted and he can't stand it. I love it
The Big XII crew was trying to help UGA out, but just didn’t get the memo on this one, and not quite as much experience with the UGA/Bama bail-out as the SEC machine… the lack of creativity in inventing new penalties on the fly really showed here. See if this crew ever gets a big game again.

I'd kind of like to meet Big Jim, their dad, just to hear some of his stories about playing for General Neyland.

Anyone have a video of this FG? I need to see this!

You know...I completely forgot Jaxson Dart is in the draft this year. I think he's going to be a name that "climbs" draft boards once the combine and everything hit.

3 years in the SEC as a starting QB, played 13 games every season, at least 20 TDs each year and he ran for over 1500 yards in his career while adding 14 TDs. Was a top 15 QB outta HS too.

6'2" 220lbs and watching the highlights it's pretty clear he has some arm talent

Won't surprise me at all if he ends up as one of the first 5 QBs taken.
