Recruiting Football Talk VIII

He is extremely talented. His shot is pure. For any other old timers does his outside shot remind you of Dale Ellis? Release looks similar and the shot just as pure. Ellis was so good. I hardly ever missed a home game when he played. Lord knows what he would have averaged if the 3 point line existed when he was in college. Lanier might end up averaging more than Knecht last year which would be ridiculous. Barnes is such a treasure.
yes very similar to Dale Ellis. I told a friend this same thing how Lanier shot and quick release reminded me of Dale Ellis.

This is good cause Auburn and Florida will have more pressure to perform to expectations and we won’t have to deal with that. They’ll most likely crash and burn while we always do better when underrated.
Don't sleep on Florida. If they keep improving, they will be tough next year with the freshman QB getting more experience and that freshman RB Baugh I think his name was is going to be good and their defense really came on at end of year. Especially if they get any kind of play from all their 4 and 5 star WR. They will be young again but extremely talented.

That is an amazing mountain range. Of the 4 summers when my Dad was stationed at Hill AFB in Utah, we went to Yellowstone for a couple weeks, went all through the Tetons, spent time in Montana and Wyoming etc. Thankful to have been to some of the most beautiful mountains and places in this country. We went to many of the places featured in Ansel Adams photos long ago. Now that I am a grown man myself, I appreciate much more all the planning, effort, time, patience etc he put into those trips. He was a good man by all accounts. My Dad fell walking across the yard on Monday morning. At 3AM Sunday the day prior we had learned of my brothers demise. When taken to the hospital, we learned the reason my Dad fell was a tumor on his spine near the bottom. He never came back from the hospital, he died 9 weeks later as the cancer was extremely aggressive and spread everywhere. I stood in for my Dad at my little brothers funeral at Fort Griffith in GA. The only thing my Dad ever cried about while cancer riddled his body was being unable to attend Elijahs funeral. He was tough, and brave. I spoke of his bravery in his eulogy, and he received military honors at his funeral as did my Pappaw and Eli. They all died in the last 5 years. Its been really hard on my family.
We have a cabin rented at Colter Bay Village in GTNP for the whole second week of June...Yellowstone-Grand Teton is my favorite place on earth, and this will probably be the last time I ever get to see it...I have limited resources and I have so many other bucket list places to see before I check out. All of our children and their spouses are going...and I can't wait for my grandson and step-grandson to see it all...both of them absolutely love the outdoors, especially my grandson, and that makes ne happy.

I think of it as a whole...they call that whole area the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem...and Grand Teton National Park is my favorite part of it.

It is our families "place"....if you know what I mean.

That’s an awesome trip McGill, glad you’re getting to enjoy that with your family. I’ve been blessed to go there multiple times and it’s my favorite place on the planet also. Experienced it the first time as a teenager with my family and it made me fall in love with the western mountains. My mom and dad would load us 5 kids up in a station wagon and a pop up camper and we did 4 separate 2 week trips over 4 summers all over the west. We had meager means in those days but somehow my parents made it happen. I tell them to this day that they were a bit crazy but I sure do cherish those memories. Your Grandkids will talk about this trip when they are old like me. Good on you for giving them this experience. Just awesome.

It has been fun watching Bama and UGA fans go through this process

Absolutely.

I wonder if the media types finally picking up on the easily predictable blinding glimpse of the obvious these several years after the change, will ever dare to put 2 and 2 together:

That joint media-Saban huckster 🐂💩 campaign is still in the heads of our low-information fans.

I'm not old enough to remember Ellis at Tennessee but I do remember watching him when he was with the Sonics. What I can remember the most was.... he was a consistent shooter, wore #3, was in an all-star game, and won a NBA 3 point contest.

Ain't he taller than Lanier?
Ellis and Dyron Nix are my two favorite Vols.............

(tad too young to remember King)

They have four WR that are 5* now that they stole one already committed to Oregon. Their QB is very good. Maybe best in the SEC. Defense improved all year...ask Ole Miss. Their roster is every bit as talented as ours from top to bottom. They will be tough in the swamp..and that game may be the difference in November between playoffs and a bowlgame. Gonna be an old fashioned Saturday SEC game of the week IMO. I hate Flarda with a passion..more than almost anything. Hate hate hate them. It pizzes me off that they can barely get bowl eligible and land a recruiting class just as good as ours...having lost more games than they won in the last 3 years while we won 30 freaking games. They make me sick.

Yeah he’s 6’7”. He was at UT when I was and was a stud. Actually played in the post and was a back to the basket player. Saw him dominate the twin towers from Kentucky down low. Just an unbelievable player. Used too see him going to class around campus all the time. One of the best to ever do it at Tennessee.
And he would often have to guard the other team's big man, like 7'4" Ralph Sampson. 😲

This is why my blood boils when I hear that midget, former HC at Alabama, referred to as "the greatest college coach of all time!"
Bullsh!t.
He had the greatest teams that money could buy, before it was legal.

Nix was fun to watch as well. King was ridiculous but I only got to see him in person a few times. King was without a doubt the best to ever do it at Tennessee. Quickest shot release I’ve ever seen and simply dominated from his first game. Just 6’6” but much taller players could never block his shot. Those Ernie/Bernie days were fun times.
