Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I say we l destroy it...if we do not while we have the chance....we are all screwed.
It's too late to destroy it. The private sector is going to make use of these tools, and I'm not sure they shouldn't. There's good evidence that AI can be more beneficial at diagnosis than human physicians, for example. It's simply too useful to discard.

Like I said, I can foresee a dystopia in the future. But the toothpaste is already out of the tube. The question is whether we can harness this power for the good of our species or whether it will wind up consuming us. I don't know with any certainty what will happen, but AI is here to stay.

I think it has a lot of downsides and that it also has a lot of upsides. As the great economist Thomas Sowell once observed: "There are no solutions; only tradeoffs."

Believe me, even as a college professor I'm worried about what it's doing -- not just to my students, but to my profession. I'm not sure it won't turn out to be all for the worse. But it is coming whether we like it or not, and we have to find ways to adapt.

Thomas Sowell is one of the wisest men alive for sure. One of the wisest in our nations history. Those unfamilar, google "Thomas Sowell quotes". He has written about 30 books. Was a longtime fan before I learned that he was born in humble Gastonia, NC. Its the next dot on the map heading south from Charlotte on I85. Small, poor town with nothing remarkable about it. One of the great minds of our time came from Nowhere,NC and continues to have a voice despite being about 80? His videos on youtube are excellent as well.

Lol it was written into his BIO seemingly. As an outside perspective it may be better to have a dictator everyone can blame than a divided house. Sounds like he is your Grand Pooba for now.

His Bio basically credits him as hiring the coach, forming an analytics team, and deciding the player acquisition plan. Sounds like he is the GM.
My question is the timeline. When was he supposedly given these responsibilities?

He's in his 90s now, but we are very lucky to have his voice. A brilliant man.
