Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Did he steal a starter jacket from Sec Shorts for that pic?
I spoke to many Vols fans at CFP game in C’bus wearing the vintage Starter jackets there to keep warm.
They had searched the webs over or had these from back in the day.
Unfortunately, someone left ours on the table at home and my daughter gave me so much grief - my fault, of course 🤦‍♂️

Im gonna be nice and say..." I have never seen a hand that looks like that before."

Never seen fingers that crooked, nor nails chewed on back to the quick for years such that the quick has migrated away from the end of the fingers. Those actually do kinda look like weird toes. Wish I had never seen that.

I have heard that the hierarchy in the franchise is a mess, in terms of decision making and evals

Also, that Amy's daughter's boyfriend or her son in law, whatever he is, was calling shots...

I don't blame Vrabel for correctly identifying and labeling everyone in the building a dumbass or a wussy
All i have ever heard about Titans is poor leadership at the top. Not even any Jerry Jones or Al Davis level crazy convictions just tepid chaos. The rest is just shell game of blame.

You don't think maybe Deion to Raiders?
I'd be really surprised if Deion gets an NFL gig. College makes sense where he can use his brand to recruit talent and have better players than the competition, but nothing about Colorado made me think that they were out-coaching anyone.

I didn't see this earlier

This is truly a doomed franchise

Lol it was written into his BIO seemingly. As an outside perspective it may be better to have a dictator everyone can blame than a divided house. Sounds like he is your Grand Pooba for now.

His Bio basically credits him as hiring the coach, forming an analytics team, and deciding the player acquisition plan. Sounds like he is the GM.
Leveraging his extensive background in scouting, Brinker plays a pivotal role in the evaluation of elite talent in both college and the NFL. His expertise ensures that the organization remains competitive and well-prepared to identify and acquire top-tier talent, thereby maintaining the team's edge in performance and strategy.
In his first season with the team, Brinker was involved in a variety of projects, including crafting the foundation of an analytics department from scratch, involvement in the search for a new head coach resulting in the hiring of Brian Callahan, and building and executing the 2024 offseason strategy for player acquisitions in both free agency and the draft. The free agency period led to 14 new veteran players being added to the roster.
An NFL personnel veteran with core strengths in executive leadership, strategic operations, financial analysis, and talent evaluation, Brinker merges his dual background in football operations with a business acumen gained from an MBA at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. As a result, he is a strategic leader and team builder both on and off the field.

Guy at work asked me this last week…..

Would you take Ewers at $3m for one year?
I said no, but it wasn’t an immediate no……
I doubt we risk losing Nico to bring in a starter. I think they might look at someone who is a solid backup for one year. We are way too young at the QB position. Nico and no one with experience behind him

My Granddad used to say, "Keep business business, and personal personal. Never mix the two. You can do business and make money with people you don't like personally. You can be ruined if you do business with people simply because they are family or people you like personally."
My granddaddy told me to never eat yellow snow :) :) :)

Rod Clark and Gainey the Assistant coaches have evaluated Portal talent very well. 2 years Tennessee hit a home run in portal, just wish the youngsters would stick around to be developed under Barnes. Examples, Dillone, Carr and B.J. Edwards.
You gotta first understand the back stories on some of the early departures
