I was going off of the overall brand / franchise value, not Jerry's own wealth. The Cowboys are the worlds most valuable sports brand at 10 Billion.

I am not a Jerry fan, but the only thing I think he has done successfully is market the Cowboys as "America's team" and elevated that brand to the top of the world.

They still suck though!
The Cowboys were known as America's team before Jerry purchased it. I also believe it was already the most valuable sports franchise in the world too. He has expanded it. However, I think most of that expansion was due to 1) 3 Super Bowl championships in quick succession in the early 90's, which had at least as much and likely more to do with Jimmy than Jerry, and 2) Fantastic marketing by the NFL as a whole, particularly in increasing the value of its TV rights.

Also the only major team in TX.

Meanwhile out of the next 8 biggest franchises, 6 NY teams are split up.

The Cowboys basically carry an entire huge state singlehandedly.

Since this is in my area of expertise I figured I’d share. This will be a new option to get to games…assuming there’s parking on the other side.

True story: My grandad was an engineer for the Civil Service and the VA. On a flight back from an overseas trip, he happened to sit next to a city planner for Nashville. During their conversation, the topic of the Shelby Street Bridge came up—it was being decommissioned for vehicle use and was likely to be dismantled.

Having grown up in Nashville and walked all over the city as a youth, my grandfather, ever the frugal engineer, asked why they couldn’t repurpose it for pedestrian traffic instead of going through the costly process of a full overhaul for vehicles or tearing it down entirely. The planner admitted it was a novel idea, and they left it at that when the plane landed.

A few years later, the Shelby Street Bridge reopened as the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge—the same one you now see all over Instagram, with people snapping photos against its iconic backdrop.

I’ll always like to think my grandfather cast the line on that idea, even if he wasn’t the one to reel it in.

He was at the forefront of selling your own team’s brand for the highest profit. Football wise, Jimmy had the touch and magic as a riverboat gambler. But the BILLIONS that an average team is worth? That got ratcheted up following Jerry’s lead.

I don't get the not wanting Bru to return. Legit possession receiver and only old head in a room of young talent. Him coming back is only a positive and a huge one at that. This discouse is wild.
If he doesn't take up cap space for a serious talent with more eligibility. Bru and Pili are full house on leadership and flat broke on injury bug production. We need production.

The Cowboys are a step down from the Texas job.

At least as long as Jones is the owner.
Currently, only soccer clubs like Manchester United are more prestigious. Yankees and Dodgers (maybe the Lakers?) are approximate. Always an ego who thinks they can make it work. And Stephen is practically running the franchise because he’s mastered the art of convincing his dad that moves are his own idea. Retaining MM was Daddy but most football moves are a group effort.

Not true. Houston has both the Texans and the Titans (due to their crappy owner's Oiler fixation).

There would be several positives and negatives, it would be great to have him healthy as he is a great blocker, leader, and decently sure-handed. On the flip side, idk what he would gain by coming back, as well as he would take reps from either Brazzell or Matthews, which wouldn’t be ideal
I mean maybe it was just me but he looked much slower this past season.

That's it. I'm done with Vols basketball. On to Ice Hockey.

But seriously, the team could have just been 'spent' after the Arkansas game. Clearly, depth is a problem. As for Carr, still not sure why he's transferring. This would have been a perfect year for him to get some minutes and improve. Injury wasn't going to keep him out all year, right?
Off court issue being kept under wraps is what is being floated by some close to some insiders---not grades. Some of our transfers last year could have been involved too. Could be nothing to it but it's not been a topic for conversation

I attribute last nights game to:

1) we are probably not as good right now as we thought - better to be #1 in April than in January, I always say so let’s see how we develop

2) we are a team largely of first year transfers who’ve never faced legit adversity as a unit - they failed miserably this time, but hopefully they learn from it

3) the shooting difficulties were so bad they appear statistically anomalous- I bet we have a bounce back game soon where we can’t miss, and our averages revert to the mean

4) we lack depth and maybe Florida wore us down - this is the one that concerns me a little, not sure much can be done here

5) Florida is tough and we’ve struggled there in the past - they are a good team
