Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I IGNORE the comments on my device by the announcers. Unlike you I don't set on the edge of my seat waiting for announcers to make a snarky remark about Tennessee. I speak for myself and if you don't like that I don't listen to radio then that's your problem not mine.

Great interview - thanks for sharing. Pretty awesome at the end when Hubbs asks him what his Dad would think of this. As a new father who can't wait to take his son to Vols games it really hit me.
Mike Keith grew up a VOLS fan, from a family of VOLS fans, Bob Kesling grew up a buckeyes fan, from a family of buckeyes. There will be a significant difference on the VOL Network this season.

*It's interesting to me that John Ward's last call was TN winning the 1998 national championship and Kesling's last call was a beatdown against his "childhood dream school". I hate to keep bringing it up but Mike Keith should have been John Ward's successor. But like Mike said "everything happens for a reason".

Either way, all is right on The Hill, and TENNESSEE will win another SEC and National Championship again soon and Mike Keith will be the one telling you about it on the radio. ✍️

I turn down the tv and listen to the radio now, with Bob. First, I don't hate Bob like many on here do. Second, I would prefer my mother-in law doing the play-by-play to Vern and Gary and it is even worse now with Herbstreit and Fowler. Those two make me want to harm myself.

Keith is one of us. Even if you never listen to him this is a slam dunk.

Mike is a Tennessee Vols fan, for sure.
I never disliked Bob Kesling.
I was a fan when he was the sports anchor and later their sports director at WBIR Channel 10 (remember the Bowl Brothers?).
But I couldn't listen to him announce Tennessee football games.
Mike's hiring as the Voice of the Vols makes me anticipate the 2025 football season even more.

Let's go!

I would love for Dave Maginnes to join Mike in the booth as his color guy. I know he isn't a UT alum but he knows his stuff and gets super excited at plays every game. He already does a Saturday morning show with Doug Mathews talking and analyzing the Vols. And whether you're a Titans fan or not, Mike and Dave do a super job together
