I hardly even pay attention to announcers unless they’re really into it (Gus Johnson for example). Other than that, they’re just there for some informational nuggets throughout the game.

I’ve been blessed to have two sons in the last four years and have had to resort to listening to a lot of games with the AirPods while putting the kids to bed. Sadly, with Bob, that was a mostly frustrating experience. I have fond memories of listening to Ward as a kid. Mike isn’t John, but he loves the Vols and it will be a joy for me to listen to him call games.

I noticed in the interview with Hubbs he talked A LOT about John Ward, but I don’t think I heard Bob’s name more than once or twice early in the video.
Didn't even mention him when talking about learning how to call Vol basketball.

Thought it was a glaring omission…

This. I think several remember this, but there are a lot of Vol fans who don’t remember what it was like listening to John Ward while watching your beloved Vols live on TV. Bob just never did it for me. He was dull and boring, and brought nothing to the table like John Ward did. Mike Keith did for the titans what John Ward did for the Vols. I am pumped and ready to bring back out the old FM radio!

Mike Keith knows the Titanics are a sinking ship. He jumped into a lifeboat and came home.

He would’ve jumped ship if the Titans had been on top of the world. I don’t think I’ve seen a guy already at the top of his game more happy to have taken a specific job let alone one that comes with more work and that those outside the South would see as a downgrade.
