Wilkerson is one of the reasons baseball has been so enjoyable, in spite of their not-so-long-ago dark ages.
I never got to listen to John Ward growing up, so I've only been able to enjoy highlights and replays.
I'm also not a Titans fan, so I've never listened to Keith. Clearly the enthusiasm and passion is there.

I really recommend his interview with Hubbs, if you haven't seen it.

I just listened to this entire thing. Couldn't turn it off. Mike is clearly living out his dream and I cannot be happier for him. This is so awesome.

Mike is 100% one of us.

In case anyone missed it, Mike is already on the job. He will be working this basketball season to learn the rhythm and build the relationship with the partner (I assume Bert) in basketball. I think we will probably see him call a game or two later this season but I assume Bob will finish the season as the guy.

Mike said John Wilkerson is THE voice of Vol baseball and "the best to ever do it." Says he has no interest in getting in his way or messing up his craft. Will probably do some small stuff with Vol baseball, especially if John asks for it. But basically bball is John's baby.

Someone posted earlier that Steve Hamer was taking Bert's spot. I know he's filled in for Bert some but I've not heard it's permanent.

Bertlekamp was the best part about Bob calling basketball games. Hamer is a pretty good guy but he's kind of bland and gets "talkie". If it ain't Bert, then he'll be greatly missed.... by me. He made Kesling's basketball calls, very enjoyable and memorable. I don't know who to suggest? Mike Keith brings his own energy, so him and Hamer might balance each other out. I'd love for Bertlekamp to stay on, but I think his dad is sick and he's been caring for him.

Anyone know about the VOL Network basketball plans??
