That dudes skill was unmatched though. Paint the edges like he was Picasso, throw offspeed junk at 70mph with the exact same delivery as his heater...he is a wizard man. I loved baseball back in the Smoltz/Glavine/Maddux days. Best pitching staff ever assembled at their peak. Every Braves game was like a pitching clinic back then. Good times.

This. Works for cigars, coffee, and chocolate too. I love my friends that bottle chase because I can occasionally try things out and he reminded I am good with the bottles I like.

If folks can’t hear the cadence, pacing and use of dead air to add drama, they’re deaf. Ward’s DNA is all over the way Keith announces. I’m largely unfamiliar with him as an announcer but I can hear Ward in the way he announces despite them having very different voices.

Keith said himself they have different styles. He does try to put on a show in an organic way though.
