Agreed. in short yardage situations put the ball farther behind the line of scrimmage makes no sense except to pass, which in and of itself is questionable.

Did banks hire RG? If so, you're right he does deserve some credit, but not for being a good scheming DC.

Danny White technically hired everyone on staff…

But when Banks was hired as DC he had the ability to keep or hire the guys he wanted. RG was here & he kept him.

Just think saying the DC is “lucky” because part of his defense played at an elite level is kinda weird.

Banks doesn’t deserve all the credit, obviously RG & Ekeler are recruiting and training the guys upfront. But Banks isn’t Lucky because of it.

You don’t even need to do that. They were on the 1 yard line and instead of just plowing it up the middle with the FB, they do a pitch play. I’ll never understand why coaches do that.
