Once it was explained to me how recruiting worked and the most talented kids got to essentially pick where they went to school, it blew my mind that Hawaii wasn’t a national power yet Nebraska was.

What kid picks Nebraska when you could go to Hawaii. 🤷

Hawaiians have zero interest in American football. Their heritage is Filipino, Japanese, Portuguese, and Chinese primarily. Who will fund their NIL?

What bothers you more, the heat or the cold. . . or neither? I don't mind the cold once I'm actually moving around. . . but at least with the cold you can put some extra layers on to warm up or use a gas heater. If it's blazing hot, you're just gonna be hot, 😂 . . . anyway, construction sites seem to be colder or hotter than it actually is for some reason. I think it's a brain trick. When you go in a building, your mind is conditioned to think it's supposed to be cooler or warmer than outside.

On January 13, 1986, NCAA schools vote to adopt Proposition 48, a controversial regulation that mandates minimum high school grades and scores on standardized college entrance exams for student-athletes to participate in sports as freshmen. The proposition, which passes by a large margin, was not implemented until three years later

Proposition 48 required incoming freshmen to maintain a 2.0 grade-point average in the core curriculum of 11 courses in English, math and sciences as well as score 700 or more on the SAT or a 15 on the ACT. The SAT and ACT are standardized college entrance exams.

The day after Proposition 48 was passed, Georgetown basketball coach John Thompson walked off the court in protest before a game against Boston College.

"I've done this because, out of frustration, you're limited in your options of what you can do in response to something I felt was very wrong," Thompson said.

The NCAA has adjusted the regulations over the years, but it has remained in effect since 1986

Nobody attends their games, and the time difference kills the TV market. When I lived in Hawaii, Monday night football was taped and delayed about 3-4 hours before it was shown on TV. The news stations would not announce the score of the game that was already over because then nobody would watch the taped game.

Personally the heat affects me more. But I'm pretty sure I have POTS so it's easy for me to get dehydrated and have low electrolytes. I agree eith you on the cold thing. Plus, I enjoy being out in the winter hunting and not worrying about ticks and mosquitos, so I'm sure there's a psychological aspect to that too.

I hated cold weather most of my life but when I learned how to properly layer and prepare now I enjoy it

As long as it's players that didn't sign here out of high school, he can coach them.

Interested to see how well he and the players rise to the occasion without Cooper next year. Campbell and Heard weren't outright bad this year. But they weren't good either. And there's no reason the two of them couldn't have been an All SEC duo. The interior has always been pretty good under Elarbee. But again, Cooper has been here the whole time also.

The only coach that has earned the right to not be on the road recruiting is RG. The rest are not good enough to neglect half the job.
