Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I don't mind the work, but I'd hate to do outdoor construction, like roofing, brick/concrete work or siding. Money can be good, but it'd miserable in the summer. One of the worst jobs I had was throwing bales of hay one summer for a doctor. I was 15-16, damn near keeled over from the heat and exhaustion, 😂
Did that multiple summers in a row but our crew would start hauling the bales at 3 in the morning with floodlights on the trailer. We would finish up around 9AM. beat the heck out of dehydration and sunburn. Did make it a little harder to see a snake hanging out of a bale though.

If Prime is hired in Vegas, the Titans got a...prime....opportunity to play chess. There is no chance he will coach without his son. Draft Sanders with #1 pick and then hold him hostage and ask for a king's ransom in a trade.
Then get stuck with him when the front office overrules Prime. The NFL is not Colorado where everyone kisses his *** trying to pamper him into outstaying his kids in the lockerroom.

ETA: I would LOVE to see the Sanders' at Las Vegas.

Yeah i worked 15 years of production based construction work so maximum exertion every day. Then about 10 more doing side jobs after work and on weekends while being a Superintendent for the company i still work for. 2 back surgeries along the way. Quit doing sidework about 5 years ago other than at church or home. I have been at the same company now as a super for 15 years, all we build is apartments. Mostly read blueprints, answer questions, order materials and do payroll etc. Not physically demanding anymore other than walking up and down stairs all the time. I do walk every unit (apt) we frame though for QC and mark it up for any punchout. Check every window, door, tub/shower, and opening to make sure they are correct and straight/level/plumb/flush/square. My best friend since 10th grade is my boss/company owner and hes great to work for. See him maybe once a month at work, sometimes less. He leaves me alone and lets me do my job. I make sure he doesnt get any phone calls complaining. Very fortunate to have this job because my back just can't handle what it used to before the fusion. God has been really good to me and I am thankful. Never had an indoor/office type job and I don't know if I could handle that atmosphere.
I do both, office & field. I still do some labor if the morons don't know how to do something or if they screw something up and I want it done right. It was tough doing labor only. I didn't mind it at the time or realize just how hard I was working compared to the average person. In fact, I miss those tough work days sometimes.

we started just before sunrise, we were usually done by noon. Wish we started earlier 😂

Not sure if it's been posted here, and for those who may not go into the player threads as much, sounds like Osenda fell in love with the program, and that a large part of his commitment was due to Elarbee's development and the relationship he'd created with Osenda.

“He was probably one of my deciding factors was that he is such a great coach,” Osenda said of Elarbee. “Just seeing what he has done with the linemen they have now and the tackles they have now, I can really see he has developed these guys, and they are doing something great there. My relationship with him, I talk to him a lot, and my communication with him, I can tell his football IQ and knowledge is amazing. Because I am going there, I am going to get developed and be the best I can be at Tennessee.”

Did that one summer when I was 12. Not my favorite summer but would be good for every young boy to spend a summer doing that. I don’t think hay bales are gathered the same way anymore.

Maybe I'm just "old school" but I wish tonight was the CFP championship game. I'm wanting them to either cut it back to only 8 teams or start the playoff games a week earlier. I think this format lasts too long. I'm ready to focus on SEC conference basketball and the NFL playoffs
Bump......I posted that friday night.
Not a good look.

Between the CFP committee's early round blowouts and other sporting events to watch (NFL and college basketball), I think a lot of people are ready to move on. Both games were good but neither held my interest. I tuned into the Lady Vols game because I could'bt get into Penn St vs ND. To me, it was like tuning into a regular season big10 game. Throw in the media pushing the "it's 2 black coaches" narrative and it turned me off. It's football, make it about football.

I think if they can get the college playoffs over with before the NFL playoffs start, make the CFP less controversial with the seedings, and don't try to make it political/racism..... I think the ratings will go way up. 🤷
