Not sure why you think it’s so bad. Major market teams spending tons of money have been bad for extended periods (Yankees, Mets, Philly, LA, San Fran, Boston, Chicago, Washington). Small market teams have been good for regular periods (KC, Houston, Tampa). Other small market teams have been intermittently good. The World Series winner is usually different because baseball is a weird sport.Lol yes. Ted Turner was throwing money around. I’m not so blinded by fandom that I can’t see how bad the system is.
Sure, more $$$ generally gives a team a better shot to be regularly competitive and make the playoffs, but it’s not a foregone conclusion that those teams will win.
