It already is. This season Ohtani got paid $2 million with $68 million deferred. MLB said Ohtani was paid $46 million. Deferring money just gets a small break on luxury taxes..MLB needs to adjust their rules to count those contacts against the luxury tax.
I really think Millicic has more ability to be that guy if he can get his outside shot a little more consistent and become more aggressive. He seems like he can be a match up nightmare for the other team. Seems like SEC teams have sorta figured out how to defend Lanier. But I’m just a knucklehead on the internet that doesn’t know much about elite basketball. Team also doesn’t seem to have anyone down low to get a bucket when the perimeter shots aren’t falling. College basketball is just so much about getting hot at tournament time. You have to find a way to win games like Vandy, even on the road. Simply saying 'we'll get them at home,' is a bit dismissive.
I think the team will be fine, and yes they are still learning how to win. This is really their first season playing together, learning their roles. That said, if Lanier is that guy. He has to step up and be that guy.
Really need both he and Millicic to step up big in these next few games. It's easy to question the roster, and makeup. But, if anyone can set things straight, it's Barnes.
Igor seems to want to defer to everyone else instead of taking the shot or drive himself. Gotta be selfish occasionally..I really think Millicic has more ability to be that guy if he can get his outside shot a little more consistent and become more aggressive. Still might. They interviewed his guy for GM…the Commanders assistant GM. But they don’t have a QB currently and he didn’t make the jump for the Commanders gig last offseason. I think it’s down to interviews and fits. Preparing my loins for McCarthy. When I made that post, it seemed like he was most likely to end up coaching the raiders.
I agree I just don’t understand why. Maybe he’s coached to defer or just not aggressive by nature. I would have just preferred him taking the ball to the rim late in the game. Much more likely to get the shot off or get fouled. Most guys his size can’t stay with him. Again, I’m far from an expert on anything basketball.Igor seems to want to defer to everyone else instead of taking the shot or drive himself. Gotta be selfish occasionally..
Igor is a coaches son. I'm sure he was taught team first over me first, especially international..I agree I just don’t understand why. Maybe he’s coached to defer or just not aggressive by nature. And yet are nowhere close to the Dodgers in terms of payroll. It is what it is. The Dodgers bought a title and are hoping to do the same this season. Money well spent by them. Their owner(s) apparently have no qualms spending that money. Wish the Braves were the same, but they appear to be actively shedding payroll. But lol at suggesting the Braves payroll is anywhere close to what the Dodgers spend.
