Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I just don't think you rely on Mark Andrews when you have the best running QB in NFL history and a hall of fame 6'3 250 pound RB.

Andrews had a horrific fumble that almost cost the game on the possession before.

You don't take the ball out of your two freaks hands.

You're running go routes with TE's like Mark Andrews all day, probably exhausted and you don't give the ball to DH who has over 100 rushing TD's in his career!? Can you really sit here and act like being critical of that call is somehow crazy? Get real 😂
Not when it worked...so if everybody on the Bills locked in on Jackson and Henry, (which they did..that's why it was so wide open) what makes you think it was a no-brainer?

It was a great play call...with horrible execution.

I am actually conflicted about it though...I see both sides of the "what they should have done" argument..I just don't think it was a bad play call...because running there is not a 100% guarantee of success either under the circumstances...Buffalo was totally locked in on stopping Henry and Jackson.

Probably a good summary.

I think this next era will be dominated by the uber-rich programs like Ohio State and the Texas schools. A&M has more upside than downside, and I’d say the opposite for Georgia.

I think Alabama and Georgia are coming back to the pack, with LSU, Tennessee and Florida, and thus will have a lot more 3 and 4 loss seasons than 1 and 2 loss seasons. To break out of this pack and punch through the uber-rich, you likely need to hit on an elite QB that elevates a really good team to greatness. I’m hopeful Tennessee is doing this with its recent QB recruiting. We will see.

You should be able to trust the 5th highest paid TE in the league to catch a 2 yard pass that’s put right on his hands and a defender isn’t around him.

Perfect play call. Wide open.
Everybody is talking about the fumble as the reason they think the Andrews option should have been off the table...but for me it actually would have been the bad drop he had earlier in the game for a 1st down conversion.

I definitely think he wasn't having a great day and it had gotten in his head.

I kinda see both sides of this, but I'm not going to call it a bad play call...it was a good play call that was not executed...if Andrews just catches the ball everybody is talking about how great the call was.

Sad thing is...he is going to be hated and ridiculed like Jackie Smith from now on...I hope he gets the chance to atone at some point.

Meh...this whole mess has done nothing but traded one set of dominant spending ***holes for another.

This system is totally stupid and demoralizing...I love the Tennessee Vols, but this is going to be like MLB and I hate it.

My opinion of our 2025 team is somehow worse than the opinions of people that don’t like us.

I may need to step back gain some perspective.
I was just talking to my dad about this. I agree with you, I actually don't think we make the playoffs next year. Not because the team will be worse (I think we'll be slightly better), but because we won't luck into a terrible SEC again next year. Some people just see the surface level results and copy/paste it to next year, but our results had a lot of factors that I don't think will be in play next year (DL not as good, Sampson, really bad SEC).

If we are better at all, then we are making the playoffs.

Bama UF will be better than this year. We lose to UF if we play them at the end of this year even. And we play both away next year.
Ehh I don't know about that. Nico was way better late in the year for us and as long as Sampson doesn't fumble in the redzone we crush them. We spotted them a huge lead and all the momentum possible and still beat them.

I feel like the OSU loss broke people's ability to properly assess our team. They were the only team that could do that to us and the only reason they did that to Texas was because of all their penalties. We were in the playoff for a reason.

100%

They made #1 look even worse, and on a neutral field no less.

Once they changed their scheme post-Michigan, they've torn it up. We had no chance to know what was coming. Oregon had at least 1 game of tape, didn't help. And it took Texas to have enough film on it to even have a chance by triple teaming Smith...and still lost by 14 with a ton of penalties killing OSU all game like you said.

We're gonna light some skulls on fire next year
