3 is a good number to start. Some things to think about. Free range means your birds are at the mercy of hawks, raccoons, fox, coyote, mink/fisher and bear if you have them. Racoon and fox alone can crush a smash flock in no time.

I'd recommend a coop and protected run.

Are you planning to keep chickens for eggs, meat or as pets?

Thanks for the info. We are gonna use them for eggs pretty much. Although I have a feeling my wife is gonna think of them like pets as well lol

After the portal thread meltdown I decided to look at actual production on the field by Carnell Tate who is apparently the second coming of Jerry Rice. Through 2 years he has 70 total catches for 997 yards and 5 touchdowns. Three of his touchdowns came against the football powerhouses of Akron and Northwestern. As a reference Squirrel White who these same experts claim sucks had 97 catches for 1184 yards and 4 touchdowns in his first two years. Paying a guy like Tate 2-2.5 million is the quickest way to destroy your team. You have to use your resources wisely because they are not unlimited. Tate appears to have more talent and potential than Squirrel but the fact is up to now, that’s all it is.
Last year Kitselman was the most underrated transfer we got and ended up being one of our best.
I think I’ll just relax and trust the coaches to figure it out. Personally I like spending our resources in the trenches.

The portal thread is a sounding board for people who think our program lives and dies by the portal, yet refuse to look at on-field production and recruiting as a whole. Most on there are fine, logical thinkers, but there is a very loud minority that can’t comprehend, accept, or abide by logic.

Our scheme, when properly executed far outweighs one individual player. Again, IE seeing USF do it using motions, shifts, and mismatches is beauty.

We have more talent at WR now. We are going to be fine. We will get a player in the portal, who has experience and talent. May not be Carnell talent, but we dont need that. We have talent.

Ill take Velus Jones 3rd anyday, everyday, and all day on Sunday versus over paid pre madonna.

Really great hire by Johnson. Diggs loved Al Harris actually wanted Harris to be DC last season.

You think Witt ends on the staff in some shape or form next season?
