Current record of 4-4 would validate that opinion. Basketball is such a wonky sport. Regular season doesn’t mean that much as long as you make the dance. Get a good draw and get hot in the tournament and all is forgiven. I still don’t see enough offense to make a real run. Still love Rick Barnes and will cheer for them till the end.i think this is a middle of the pack SEC team.
Alabama was 25-12 overall last year and made a final 4…all about getting hot at the right timeCurrent record of 4-4 would validate that opinion. Basketball is such a wonky sport. It's not just the end of games... Offensively we don't have consistent answers. Our half court feels suck in the mud and we miss good looks when we get them.Like others have said, the fact that we are ice cold at times and still in these games is a testament to their effort. It really is impressive that they are getting stops and bringing in rebounds.
The problem is, at the end of the game, they get a shot or force a shot and they look like they can't even feel their arms. The shots are atrocious.
I think by the end of the game, the effort catches up and they just get desperate/lazy on offense.
Odd place to stop counting isn't it? Because they're also 5 out of their last 10 trips, because the Vols won 4 straight before that. Tennessee is 4 of 10 in Lexington. Vols are 2-1 in the neutral site games during that span. Total matchup record in that span is 11-12.Kentucky has beaten Tennessee in 5 out of their last 6 trips to Knoxville. Tommy Bowl is very good to them.
I think much of it has become mental and it's affecting their confidence. We had 21 offensive rebounds to their 10 and we still don't seem to finishLike others have said, the fact that we are ice cold at times and still in these games is a testament to their effort. I don't know what the answer is, aside from all the players just transforming into lethal shooters. I do hope they figure it out. Champ-level defense, with a head scratcher offense.
I feel the same. This game doesn’t change how I feel about Barnes. But like you, I don’t see an offense that can make it past maybe he second round.Current record of 4-4 would validate that opinion.
