Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Just because you're on the best team doesn't make you the best player. SGA has to prove to me he can actually lead a team when it counts. When I watch him play I don't see an elite player the way I do when I see Edwards or Tatum. We'll see if he can step up this year in the playoffs. If he does I'll give him his props.

I'm just not enamored by stats like yall. I watch the games and try to see how the player impacts the game. When I watch OKC I see a good team with a bunch of good pieces. SGA never quite pops out to me as an elite difference maker.
SGA was elite and finished top 5 MVP before he had a great supporting cast and his team was average. Your comments tonight show you clearly don’t watch games💀

LeBron elite off the ball? When has he ever played off the ball for you to make such a determination? One to two plays a game doesn't make you elite. Elite off ball players are guys like Rip Hamilton and Ray Allen whose bread and butter was running around screens looking for catch and shoot opportunities.

When's the last time you saw Bron running around screens? LOL.
You don’t watch games.

I keep seeing posts by this NFL Rookie Watch account but have seen nothing to show it isn't some random dude making up sh**. How are they credible?
All I know is that I’ve seen a multitude of posts by our NFL fans here for a month or more saying that this is a very bad year for quarterbacks and that there is only one (Cam Ward) who has any chance at all in the NFL. Teams should skip them all, basically. It looks like that site wants to attribute this situation solely and entirely to Arch. Is it really due to Arch that people aren’t fighting over Milroe, for example? 😂

I have no idea who is behind that site or anything about their other takes.

Unfortunately I do. I have a lot of free time on my hands despite how unbearable NBA basketball is to watch nowadays. You seem to be the one that doesn't watch since you made the fallacious claim that LeBron is an "elite" off-ball player. I would argue saying he's even good off the ball is unsupported. You decided to take it to the extreme by saying he was elite. I wouldn't even say Jordan or Kobe were elite off the ball offensive players despite them playing off ball way more than LeBron who is arguably the most ball dominant player in NBA history.

Again. Just because someone is ball dominant doesn’t mean they aren’t good off ball. That’s not the way that works.

LeBron even at his age is one of the best off the ball players in the NBA. You keep on proving your knowledge is very limited.

If the view about this year’s QB class is correct, the latter claim seems less than completely honest about the cause, even if Arch will be highly sought. Unless they are hinting at the real cause by putting “cause” in quote marks. Idk. Is it Arch’s fault that people aren’t fighting over Milroe, for example?

Having a Manning QB the Titans is intriguing, but all this hype for Arch and he hasn't done a damn thing.

Arch with the Saints would also be intriguing.

Are there any wildlife resource officers on the board? I have a question about hunting with dogs. The point is moot for now but if it ever comes up again I'd like to be confident in my position.

Had some hunters come right up to my property line treeing raccoons last night late. Had my half blind horse pushing through a fence causing some injury and my livestock guardian dogs and goats were completely freaked out and jumping off stall walls etc.

They were within 20 yards of my house and 10 of my horse. I raised hell with them and told them if they didn't leave and hunt somewhere else on that property I'd see to it they never got permission again.

The property owner was pretty pissed at them when I told him what happened and hassle he gave me

Crazy thing is I don't care that he hunts raccoon. It actually helps me, I've lost more than a few chickens to them. I just can't have them that close to my livestock guardians and other animals and causing injuries. Not to mention hunting that close to my house......... Found it very disrespectful.

I wanted to know what the law says, what I have found is somewhat ambiguous.

Not a wildlife officer, but I have seen a lot of shows about wildlife officers on Animal Planet. They've always made it sound like there are strict laws when discharging a firearm around a dwelling. But again, that was on TV, and in different states. So, I don't know. But there's probably a number you can call. Here's the TWRA website.

Again. Just because someone is ball dominant doesn’t mean they aren’t good off ball. That’s not the way that works.

If someone rarely plays off the ball, how can you claim they are elite at something they don't do? It's like saying Steph Curry is a dominant post player when he rarely plays out of the post. You can't just claim someone is elite at something they rarely do. LeBron has the ball in his hands almost all the time. He's the antithesis of an off ball player.

I didn’t say he’s an off ball player. Again, just because someone doesn’t do something often doesn’t mean they aren’t good at it. I’m not sure why that’s hard for you to understand. Jokic is a great 3PT shooter and is shooting almost 50% from 3 but he’s not even in the top 50 in attempts because that’s not his role.

You either dont watch the games or just follow along with the narrative he’s a stat padding ball hog. Go watch film, reaves has been running the point and Brons been playing good off ball. he’s a great cutter and always has been. Watch him in the playoffs when rando ran the point

I didn’t say he’s an off ball player.

No you said he was an "ELITE" off-ball player which is even more insane. A guy who rarely plays without the ball being elite is nonsensical. To be elite at something you have to do it at great volume. You can't claim someone is elite at a skill they rarely utilize. LeBron is the most ball dominant player in NBA history. It's why his numbers are so elite. Playing off ball is something he doesn't do. Picking your spots once or twice a game to cut when you don't have the ball doesn't make you elite at playing off the ball. All it means is you made one or two good cuts.
