Arby’s and Wendy’s. Love chikfila fries but sometimes they’re soggy. Same with five guys. McDonald’s are classic but they just aren’t good unless you get a fresh batch which I feel like I never do. Innout fries are mid af. Shake shack nothing special. There’s a reason burger king isn’t called Fry King. I must admit I haven’t had checkers fries but they look really good in this picture.
Pals is definitely overrated. At least it's cheap though.I'll give them a try but I have low expectations. I kept hearing about the "goodness of Pal's" and I finally got to try it a couple of years ago. It's ok, nothing like I was expecting.
The 2020 shutdown ruined the Steak and Shake. The one closest to our house was always really good and full of customers. They never got back on track after the shutdown. That was one of my favorite "cheap" places to eat.
I'll tell you who really needs to get their hearts right...... Krystal. The morons running that company are about to put themselves out of business. 4 cheese Krystals, fries, and a drink for $11+ is ridiculous. Who do they think they are....... 5 Guys???
It's unbelievably cheaper to make your own food. Seems obvious, but there are only a couple little country diners that come close to being as affordable as just buying your own food.Fast food chains have gotten so bad these days. It's like they didn't want to raise prices too high, so they just let the food turn to shiz.
I rarely eat fast food, but I've tried Mcd's and Five Guys in the last 6 months and they've both taken huge steps back. Taco Bell sucks now too, but more because the prices are absurd.
Subway is about the only ff that's stayed reasonably consistent, except the quantities do seem to be decreasing or at least inconsistent.
I've gotten to the point to where I'd rather just make my own food at home because it's better and cheaper...and we do enjoy cooking with some music on in the background.
Here's one.If we want to talk good fast food (at least from the past) how about Checkers/Rallys?
I remember those places being great. Or maybe I was just young and drunkBut they did seem fantastic. I remember cajun style fries and tasty burgers.
There was also a place out on Kingston Pike near Fort Sanders West and Cokesbury that was solid.
For sure, usually more about the experience. It's unbelievably cheaper to make your own food. Seems obvious, but there are only a couple little country diners that come close to being as affordable as just buying your own food.
I got 6 chicken thighs from Aldi for $5.13! A pack of risotto for $2.49. Some green beans and sweet peppers for idk less than $2 each?
Ate the chicken thighs in one sitting with wifey, but the risotto and the veggies have lasted a couple meals and I still have plenty of peppers left.
Two chicken entree meals like that would be at least $30, pre tip at some restaurant.
So it's kinda dumb to ever go out and eat![]()
