Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I can attest it’s true. His number is on the inside of the third stall. I took a picture. Even called for er.. um.. journalistic integrity and identity verification purposes.

True Story.

Sorry @InVOLuntary I know I said I’d never tell a soul, but, I lied.
Well, I've blocked your number. Quit calling me.

St Johns goes on the road and takes down #19 UCONN to improve to 21-3 best season for the Johnnie’s since 1984 over 40 years in year 2 of Rick Pitino. NY Basketball is back
Those 80s Big East Basketball tournaments were more fun to watch than the NCAA tournament. And I could care less who won. Miss those days.

Happy Saturday. Hope everyone is well.

February 8, 2025: When your heart breaks for the suffering of others, do what you can do, and leave the rest to the Lord. Your compassion reveals God's heart. But, in circumstances beyond your control, your only recourse is to pray. Psalm 86:15 But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.

Cmon man. Now I feel like a jerk for messin' with Squatch.

Always on point, everday.

My employer works with Appalachia Service Project on some things.

If you don't know who they are or what they do. Google them.

ASP had 20 homes built and out within a month of Helene.

Stoney River is my favorite (regional) chain steakhouse. It's only a bit more expensive than Texas Roadhouse/Longhorn/Outback but comparable to Fleming's/Ruth's Chris/Morton's for quality. My wife and I used to go to the one on West End in Nashville all the time.

I haven't been in a decade so things certainly could have changed, but it was a great deal back when we used to go. Could get out the door for $100 less than Fleming's for food that was 90% as good.
I used to go to the west end one all the time. They had the world's best chocolate ganache cake, massive slice with 4 shot glasses of milk surrounding it. Then they stopped serving it at all, and I never went back.

Even when I wasn't mad at them, I wouldn't put them anywhere near the same quality of food as Ruth's Chris though. They didn't even have prime steaks. The service and atmosphere was fine dining quality, but I thought the food was more longhorn quality.

I loved that place though, every work dinner I'd go there and enjoy that cake.

I've watched Kobe Elvis play a lot and he's not good. I was happy when he transfered from Dayton and surprised he ended up at a SEC program.
Speaking of Elvis, I heard a funny...odd story about the 1989 Super Bowl halftime. Apparently they had built up a huge amount of hype of having a "3d" superbowl halftime performance. Coca Cola distributed 3d glasses at gas stations all across the country for it, the whole nine yards.

Then it happened...they played a really lame coca cola commercial followed by a surprise performer...Elvis Presto, an Elvis impersonator doing magic tricks 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Apparently it's well regarded as one of the worst halftime shows of all-time. Man we've come along way. I can still remember when MJ performed, that seemed like the turning point and since then, well, at least it hasn't been awfully pathetic, save getting BEP'd in 2011 🤦
