Recruiting Football Talk VIII

More or less felt this was why UF beating Auburn wasn’t ideal. I think the drop is probably justified. UF beating Auburn the way they did at Auburn was really really impressive.
The drop might be justified except for UT having just annihilated that same UF team without 2 of our starters 9 days ago.

Dropping after beating two teams with a combined record of 33-13, by 23 total points either means the voters really didn't think UT was 4th when they voted us 4th OR (more likely) they don't have a clue how to rank the top 5-6 teams from week to week because there's so little gap between them.

Former Eagle, Vol and Nashville Kat quarterback Andy Kelly was informed that he will be part of the 2025 Tennessee Sports Hall on Fame by TNHOF Executive Director Brad Willis.
Kelly led the Volunteers to two SEC titles and in 15 years threw more than 800 touchdown passes in the Arena League.
Kelly will be formally inducted on Saturday, July 19.

800 TD passes 👀

You realize there are millions of people in the country that listen to rap music right?
Literally the most explosive artist of 2024 😅🤣

That said, I got, from the start why Kendrick, a poet, probably wasn't the best SB fit. The SB feeds off pop garbage typically.

It would be like throwing Tame Impala or Radiohead on the SB halftime show. But KL's influence was too much to override in the last 12 months. He deserved it, but, clearly many folks didn't get it or understand his poetry and storytelling. It was beautiful, but will be lost on the masses.

I think my 3 favorite SB shows

Prince
Michael Jackson
Dr. Dre & Friends

Lady Gaga, Katy Perry (left shark) and Shakira/J-Lo in the honorable mentions
Prince will never be topped. But last night was up there for sure. Just wish they had let him play Not Like Us or Alright or DNA in full.

Unfortunately, so much is lost on 'the masses'.

“Any formal attack on ignorance is bound to fail because the masses are always ready to defend their most precious possession – their ignorance.”

Vols beat Florida and Oklahoma and drop from #4 to #5? Florida, Duke and Auburn get beat and stay in their ranking or move up. Is all this for TV this weekend? Bama plays Auburn Saturday.

How in the world does Duke not drop below us considering they lost to Clemson??

it's about time!

Andy Kelly is my all time favorite VOL QB.

*I thought he was already in the TNHOF.

The "Miracle at South Bend" is one of my favorite memories.

Bro!..hands down best Super Bowl performance…after watching that live I felt like something was going to happen to him it was weird not long after that he passed…the rain coming down ironically during his performance is when I felt like it was a set up for his final act before being called home…it was just fitting…did anyone else feel that way?

Bruno Mars was pretty good..... and I don't really like him that much.

I like your other 2 choices. I'd drop Dr Dre and friends and put Bruno Mars with Prince and Michael Jackson. That'd be my top 3
