Recruiting Football Talk VIII

“Aaron the Ripper” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

How about "Aaron the Tripper" instead.

Now that y’all mention it all the Aarons I’ve ever known have been kinda chill borderline hippie dudes. Maybe Victorian Era Aarons were more gangsta? Or maybe Aaron the Ripper snapped because we all expected him to keep showing up and sharing his dime bag with everyone?😂
Maybe we're pronouncing it wrong and back then it was A-A-Ron. A-A-Ron the Ripper has a ring to it.

Because we lost games last year and made the Elite Eight? We got beat twice by Mississippi State last year. Should we just cancel the rest?
Once again, the posters haven’t said to cancel the season. That’s your rhetoric.

This team may surprise us and go into the final weekend of the season but I seriously doubt it.

I find nothing wrong with fans posting their concerns as most also post the team’s strengths.

Also, good post about MS State. However, the ky loss stings more since they are a rival.

March is all about matchups. My concern is the last if consistent shooting, esp for six games.

I find nothing wrong with posting concerns either, but your question was “why would we expect anything different in March (after losing to UK twice)?”

I, in fact, pointed to past data that showed that our result in March was indeed different. Then, you pivoted to UK being a rival when I pointed to the data about Mississippi State. Like losing to a rival twice has any meaning in March.

Please don’t get upset when I answered your question and refuted your assertion. It’s more than just my opinion- it’s proof.

As for choking down the stretch, we went on like an 18-0 run against Creighton last year in the SS to win that game. This year, we won a top 25 game at Illinois on a buzzer beater and came back to beat a top 25 Mizzou team. The team can beat other good teams late in games.

People just want to bitch about the team. They call it "concerns"...what they never do is say "Dang...I am so glad we have a great coach that puts a gritty hardest working team in CBB team in the floor EVERY FREAKING YEAR!"

All they ever want to do is point out all the obvious flaws our teams have like they are some kind of super prescient basketball genius dic**ead.

Here is the by now obvious truth of this team...As always, we are a great defensive team, that nobody wants to play, and as always, we are a streaky offensive team that goes into weird teamwide funks..we also have very little depth.

So...in summation...we could win it all or lose in the 2nd round...it will just take the right combination of things to win it all...like totally clamping down on a team when we aren't shooting well and pulling it out, or outshooting a team in a game when the other team is hitting everything and pulling it out...it will also also getting good matchups for a change and not getting the raw end of a screw job by the refs.

That sound about right to you? 🤷‍♂️ and it didn't even take a genius to see it...😏
