Sad but very revealing update on the Blackhawk crash. Their altimeters were off and didn't even match from pilot to instructor. They never even discussed that discrepency. They keyed their mics at the very same time as some critical ATC info and didn't hear all of it. Never called back to clarify either. They had a ADSB (electronic alert) in the chopper to alert to collisions but either had it turned off or it was not working. They never made evasive maneuvers indicating they never saw the plane. The ATC had told them to fly behind the plane and they never saw said plane clearly as they barely deviated. They also acknowledged to each other they were slightly too high. They were supposed to be at 200 feet and were at 275 or maybe more. The plane otoh and it's pilots were alerted by their ADSB and made aggressive evasive maneuvers but all too late.
Insult to injury below 500ft the ADSB gives limited details. This was all happening around 300ft.

The chopper was at fault. A series of unintended issues added to it. The whole air space on that side of the airport is idiotic with smaller planes and occasionally military craft knowingly flying into the same area were visual cues are the "norm" in an area where the background is chock full of conflicting lights and visibility sucks. It will be one of those horrific hindsight moments we all look back on and say who thought this was good?
