Recruiting Football Talk VIII

No we were a .500 team at the time, within a game or 2.
“This team is very average at best”

“So if we go 500 give one or two games in conference play, we're not a middle of the pack SEC team?”

“The season obviously isn't over literally but they're an average team” all posted within 1 hour. But sure

As a fellow old guy, I respect InVol’s stubbornness.

We're close to securing the first 1-seed in school history, with the best defensive team in all of college basketball in decades, a Top 10 offensive efficiency team, and a roster that turns out is full of dogs that make big plays that's let to the most AP ranked wins in school history.

This might actually be the best TEAM we've ever had. There's no sense in being down on them. Anything can happen in March, feel however you want, but these guys haven't given a MEASURABLE reason to not believe in them.
They seem to be getting hot at the right time. Hopefully that will continue. They have beaten 3 good teams in FL, A&M, and now Bama. They're very capable of beating anyone. They're also very capable of losing to ole miss on Wednesday. Consistency makes teams elite. Not being competitive twice against a very average KY team, losing to Vandy once and miraculous comeback to beat them at home. That's the reason for the loss in confidence.

- Drew the foul on an effort play by beating his guy off the line for position.
- Hit 2 clutch free throws to tie it.
- Drew the jump ball on an expertly executed effort play to tie the guard up before he could shoot.
- Forced the 5 second call by sticking to his man like sushi rice.
- Was the last choice outlet pass, bottom.

Shutting up the haters. VFL legend.

The only thing he did wrong was read Barnes' lips. Thanks fans!

Almost every team has let down games. That's college basketball. It was also to be expected as it took them a while to really figure out how they mesh. Also, you HAVE to acknowledge the injuries the team was dealing with at the time.

I think they've really figured it out now and that's lead to the stretch we've had now.

Only here to drop this stat and let the Barnes haters seethe ( @mr.checkerboards )

Bump...

I always laugh whenever these types of posts are put out. I laugh my ass off at the losers and b!tches around here who love to run Barnes down, and make a complete tool of themselves on a consistent basis...those that know jack and sh!t about everything.

It's, at least, one milestone every single week now, it seems. Something we have accomplished that we never had on the hardwood; or, facts that constantly put us in the same sentences as the best programs in America. Back in the Top 5...again. Becoming old hat.

Don't know if it's been said or not...the win over A&M was Barnes 50th over a Top 10 team. He joins 10 other men in the history of college basketball to do it. 132 years.

Thanks for the laugh, donkeys.

Go Big Orange.

5FIRST win for Barnes against Top 10.
