Weird they wouldn't let him pad some stats, unless he was nursing a minor injury. He not injured. We just showed our depth on the Dline and with the game out of hand by the 2nd Q, we didnt need him to play. UTC was getting the ball out quick to avoid our pass rush. Mr. Top 5 pick will he active often against NCST.
I think we were keeping the wear and tear low on him. These smaller schools are gonna always stick 2 dudes on him. I think once we get into P4 & SEC play, they'll be more likely to go man to man on him a lot more often. He not injured. Since 2019, fear has become a badge of honor for some. Combine that with the new power of victimhood and that's what you get.
I'm just ready to mercilessly mock every post that drags out the tired and battered BVS. I'm so tired of smelling it in here.
I don't think the staff is anti-stats. But I think they are more about building the strength of the team over one player's stats. We KNOW he's a stud who's ready. Sit him, give the 2s and 3s game action, and coach them up. It'll pay dividends later in the season.Weird they wouldn't let him pad some stats, unless he was nursing a minor injury.
I doubt it. This staff and a lesser overall UT team all but had their way with UF two seasons ago, and yet here we are. Apparently, winning isn't the cure. Looks like the only remedy, once and for all, will be to absolutely mock it out of existence every time someone fills their diaper with it and stinks the forum up again.I think that if we crush Florida this year then you will see BVS dry up. We can’t let them hang around for 4 quarters and give them a shot.
The opportunities to get a sack were few with how UTC played. They ran the ball on 3rd and long and when they weren't doing that, they were calling 5 yard out routes. They were intentional on getting the ball out of their QB hands which is why we only had 1 sack. They only attempted to push the ball down the field a handful of times.Said no potential #1 pick ever... He has to have some minor issue he's working on. You don't sit your potential top draft pick, I've never seen that in decades of watching football.

Oh Snap! I've hit the big time!

UTC was cut blocking too which increases the chance of injury. I'm not sure it was worth the risk given the situation. It doesn't take much to tweak a knee or ankle. The opportunities to get a sack were few with how UTC played. Pearce will play his normal amount of snaps and be a problem against NCST.
