I think it happened with Dish a few years ago but though your logic is sound it doesn't necessarily hold true.

If Disney is trying to weaken DirecTV so they could A. Buy them out or B. Increase subscriptions to programs Disney owns then this is exactly what they'd do. Force DirecTV into a huge contract they can't afford and/or weaken them.

Especially if there's a relationship or collusion with Dish or something. DirecTV being half responsible is the simpliest and a very likely scenario, though.

Do we know there is collusion? Serious question. I'm sure there's been a lot of speculation about it. Also, isn't DTV owned by ATT? I just know I pay DTV, so I'm holding them accountable.
