Recruiting Football Talk VIII

So Notre Dame is gonna get the 5-seed and assuming they can beat the Big12 team they're going to demolish Boise State.

And I really want Boise State to do something... they just aren't impressive to me outside of Jeanty.

They've got to seed this tournament straight up in the future. Absolutely no reason for this team to be #4. Give the automatic bid, sure, but not a bye.
This seeding is all so dumb.

Bad, bad, bad idea. . . unless it's like a 15 year lease.
Is there any other precedent for a publicity owned university divesting a portion of ownership to a private entity? Speaking of other parts of the university outside of sports? Seems like quite the slippery slope of government entanglement.

But then again, I guess nothing would stop a private university from doing it (Notre Dame?). And if that is the case then the public universities would be at a big disadvantage.

Matthews is gone?
Yeah Jordan. Was pretty excited when we got him, Thought he would be pushing for more playing time. Idk why he wouldn’t stay another year and try to improve and force the coaches to rotate more at corner by playing too well. It’s not like our coaches are reluctant to rotate as we’ve seen as long as there’s little to no drop off.

Jalen Smith is an interesting defection. Kid would have contributed.
Spillman came back from like 9 games missed and instantly took reps from Smith against Vandy. If not for the injury Smith wouldn’t have seen the field much over him. On top of Telander & Carter being in his class and Perry having another year or two I get it.

I'm sure there are in cases or analogies where a mega-donor/alum and/or business gets significant influence over certain departments. Maybe Tyson Foods for example giving huge amounts of money to specific poultry science programs, having those schools train graduates to do research on Tyson's production models and eventually hiring those students like a feeder program. Thus they could control the information in some ways. We have the Haslam College of Business. Could be influence there.

Staes ain't dead

I heard it was set for two years. But since they never follow their own rules, anyway, they may change it. He’ll, I think they changed it to rig Bama in.

So close to a Bama fan meltdown. Maybe people would have flipped some of their commits.
This is the worst part of it all.

Bama has no business being in this.

Just how impressive do you think Northern Illinois is? Notre Dame isn't impressive in the least.

Asking for a prayer tonight. The old girl pictured is approximately 20 years old. 15 is considered geriatric. She hasn't been dealing with the cold very well and has stopped eating her alfalfa and grain. We've brought her inside tonight to avoid the 16 degree temps.

She's extremely special to me. And although I know her time will come I refuse to let it be because she is old and cold. People laugh at my wife and I all the time for bringing sick and needy animals into our home. Yes, they poop and pee on the floors. No I don't give a damn. It's an old farmhouse, we aren't entertaining anyone special. Friends and family are either with the program or they can go if they please.

I pray the warmer weather we are expecting will get her back to normal. I'd just like to get her through another winter and into spring and summer to enjoy the warmth again.

This is Bonnie, the special needs former show goat, she had a procedure done that is supposed to make her stand at a better angle for show judges but it hobbled her and she was sent to auction. Likely to be a meat goat. The previous owners of our farm bought her at auction and rescued her. She's lived a good life after her recovery......... Please pray we get her to another warm spring. My two favorite pictures of her: 15387.jpegFB_IMG_1692932109387.jpg

That was in the first couple weeks of the season. Doesn’t convince me they are for real.
People just hate small schools I get it. They could have won by 50 and ppl would still think they're amazing.

The gap that People think exists between how they are playing and the rest of us is just not that big at all.

Again...losing by just 3 to Oregon shouldn't just be dismissed. Why did Oregon suck that day? Or was it Boise St being good with the best player in college football on their team?

Why should we respect everyone else so much more? We didn't score in the first half for 3 weeks because we couldn't complete wide open passes or block anybody

Bama scored 3 against Oklahoma's mess of a team

UGA needing miracles to beat a middle of a pack GT team

Ohio St scoring 10 pts against Michigan and needing a goal line stand against Nebraska to beat them

Oregon's recent 4th quarter comeback at Wisconsin

Penn St actually took almost the entire 1st qtr to score on Kent St and they almost lost to Bowling Green

SMU losing to BYU kicking 5 FG's and needing a miracle comeback against 3 win Nevada

Texas whipped by the best team they played and squeaking by teams like Vandy...Vandy who lost to GA St and almost lost to horrific Ball st

BIG 12 champ has problems

Sorry, but there's just not a big difference between Boise St and the rest of them. Oregon already struggled with them and literally everyone else has struggled mightily against teams worse than Boise St.

It's also Boise St y'all, they've beaten plenty of power conference teams over the years. They win football games.

Keep her warm. I got 4 dogs and 2 of them are huskies and they shed like crazy but after about a year we finally got ahold of the shedding lol. I got 2 other dogs and 1 is a rescue that was abused and left outside to die and she is a Schnoodle and we now have had her for 9 years and she is 15 years old and I have a 2 year old yorkie and my wife rescued 2 cats. All of these animals are well taken care of and we could carless if anybody ever comes to our house. My kids come before anybody else lol. Praying for your pets.

My wife is with her in the foyer of the dining room with the wood stove. I'm stoking it every hour. We'll make sure she's warm enough. Thank you for the prayers.

Thank you for helping those you can, prayers sent for you and yours!
