Any movie buffs out there? I have some time off tomorrow and I’m curious on whether I should treat myself to Gladiator 2 or Complete Unknown. I’m leaning towards gladiator 2, but figured I’d get the opinions of others who may have seen it.
G2 is OK at best. Love Mescal but he is not the robust actor you want for a movie like that, certainly no Russell Crowe.
Brutalist is solid, even if the 2nd half's plot is muddled and politically incoherent, considering László Tóth's background. Incredible acting and cinematography though, if it's playing in your area it's worth seeing. Really enjoyed
Nosferatu. Eggers is firing on all cylinders with his lifelong passion project.
If you still have
A Real Pain in theaters that movie was hilarious.. excellent film.
Babygirl was fun, may not be most people on this website's cup o' tea, but the gf and I enjoyed. If you have an AMC in the area they are playing a 4k 15th anniversary run of
Paprika, which is a 10/10 perfect banger... the dude made Perfect Blue and influenced a generation of American filmmakers.. can't watch any Darren Aronofsky without seeing the Satoshi Kon influence splattered all over it.
Nickel Boys is EXCELLENT but highly unlikely it's playing outside of the coasts...
and last but not least, if you have the chance to see
Anora in theaters... go see it. Hilarious movie. Brutalist or Anora will win best picture this year, my money's on Anora.. Sean Baker is overdue
