Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Someone said we could have 4 sec final four. I thought that was a bit ridiculous and statistically it is but it may very well be possible that the 4 best teams in the country are in the sec. Which they would be, might even be up for debate.

Auburn/Vols/Bama/UF/TAMU/UK. All seem like definite top 10 teams.

Bru averaged over 20 YPC against Florida and LSU in 2022. 19 against Bama. Had a long TD catch against Pitt beating man coverage. He had the ability, but they isolated Hyatt a bunch. That was pre-injury though.
Yea he makes the occasional big plays cuz he’s a very talented player. He’s not utilized the way he can and should be

I also like bru for slants and I think we should be figuring out how to take advantage of his size against smaller players in the red zone. I even like him against linebackers as I think he’s faster than many of them if we could position him for those matchups but we don’t seem to keen on trying to bring him inside at all.
Yea I wish we would too. Sadly we hardly ever run slants. That’s why he’s not the best fit for the offense. Great talented player? And glad we have him? Absolutely

Hey to you degenerates in East Tennessee (I live in Kingston and work in Oak Ridge). I’ve been watching the weather. I’m thinking I have an early window on Friday morning early to get to work for the long haul. But, the forecast has changed in the last 12 hours, I’m thinking I need to scoot early on Friday morning, what do y’all think? I’m the Dietary Director at my facility and those sweet little people deserve and will have their meals, but I’m still up in the air if I need to scoot tomorrow night or really early Friday. Help.

Prayers for them and you.

You don’t want big and physical and screen plays. You want quick and elusive

Bru is good for the curls and comebacks and being a great leader for the young WR’s. Hope he makes an NFL roster and I bet when he gets a chance he’ll ball out like Jennings has for 49ers
I completely disagree. I want my blocking WR to be bigger and physical. Is what it is I guess. Agree to disagree.

Thank you DD, I’m still on the fence on when to head that way. I’m sorry, I’ve worked a little over a month at this job. 11 1/2 hours a day, 3 days off during that time. Yada, yada and stuff that’s outside of that stuff. At this point I probably don’t form sentences very well, lol.

Any movie buffs out there? I have some time off tomorrow and I’m curious on whether I should treat myself to Gladiator 2 or Complete Unknown. I’m leaning towards gladiator 2, but figured I’d get the opinions of others who may have seen it.

G2 is OK at best. Love Mescal but he is not the robust actor you want for a movie like that, certainly no Russell Crowe. Brutalist is solid, even if the 2nd half's plot is muddled and politically incoherent, considering László Tóth's background. Incredible acting and cinematography though, if it's playing in your area it's worth seeing. Really enjoyed Nosferatu. Eggers is firing on all cylinders with his lifelong passion project.

If you still have A Real Pain in theaters that movie was hilarious.. excellent film. Babygirl was fun, may not be most people on this website's cup o' tea, but the gf and I enjoyed. If you have an AMC in the area they are playing a 4k 15th anniversary run of Paprika, which is a 10/10 perfect banger... the dude made Perfect Blue and influenced a generation of American filmmakers.. can't watch any Darren Aronofsky without seeing the Satoshi Kon influence splattered all over it. Nickel Boys is EXCELLENT but highly unlikely it's playing outside of the coasts...

and last but not least, if you have the chance to see Anora in theaters... go see it. Hilarious movie. Brutalist or Anora will win best picture this year, my money's on Anora.. Sean Baker is overdue

Yes. I agree and don't think that should be his primary function, but it's a play we run multiple times a game. Possession receiver and a great go to target when you need to pick up a 1st down.
I agree. I wasn’t saying Bru doesn’t fit our system at all, just that it’s not the best for him. I think he’s good enough he could go to any team and fit in, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna put him in great position to excel

Where are the slants, posts, crossers, corners, back shoulders. He’s a big bodied physical guy
