We’re talking about the “future” here shows zero confidence in the man behind Nico who’s been here putting in the work learning the offense…just like if Jake left and faizon was behind Jake,putting in the same work and then we go and get a portal qb over giving fazion the opportunity to prove himself…the dynamic of this is choosing someone who we never recruited out of high school in desperation filling a spot over building around someone who we have recruited for 4 years who we know and trust.not a good look JH needs to protect what he’s built..his persona is being a “players coach” so be that players coach.

I feel like the players will respect the coaches for cutting loose ends (if that’s the route they go)

I don’t think you can ignore the fact that the coaches who see him everyday have no interest in giving him any more. They saw him play last year and in practice this year. They also had to make our offense very vanilla last year because of him. They also get to see the other quarterbacks. He’s not worth the drama.

How crazy would this turn out, during the first timeout of the Tennessee-Illinois basketball game, Altmyer came on the court with a microphone to announce his return to Illinois in 2025. We broke their hearts that day and possibly again next week. Would be a weird turn of events...

Definitely lost its luster over the last few years. Gone are the days of watching players develop and grow on your team.

He’s driving around in a dang near 200 thousand dollar car and complaining about the amount of money he is making after losing every big road game he played in. Win at Arkansas and then holler about more money.

He can’t hit a deep ball, can’t make quick decisions, and doesn’t have the leadership qualities you need in a QB.

I’m venting at this point, but this is NOT professional sports. Binding contracts where the player loses money if they pull a stunt like this are necessary!

Car of choice?… will tell me a lot about him with the money he’s making..that’s all I need

I think Tennessee made a decision they would not participate in the back and forth anymore. Sounds like they've made their offer and are sticking to it. As leverage Nico has cut contact.

Sounds like the negotiations have concluded, now it's time for decisions. Kind of doubtful that lines haven't been crossed to the point of no return.

You never say never but I struggle to find a way back to this team for him.

It's always been about the $ with the Nico camp. Us refusing to budge on our number is/was a dealbreaker for their camp.
