This is where my mind went to, timing. It all reads ‘that I have all the cards and you don’t’ feel on his part on an important time. As a supervisor, it doesn’t sit well with me. I won’t post anything bad about him, because he’s still our QB, but letting them walk isn’t a bad thing when you consider the complete picture of your team. I hope it gets resolved one way or another quickly. The longer this is ‘leaked’ on negotiations the worse it’ll be for the program. One way or another, I’ve lost all respect for this. Just end.

I don’t think you can ignore the fact that the coaches who see him everyday have no interest in giving him any more. They saw him play last year and in practice this year. They also had to make our offense very vanilla last year because of him. They also get to see the other quarterbacks. He’s not worth the drama.

How crazy would this turn out, during the first timeout of the Tennessee-Illinois basketball game, Altmyer came on the court with a microphone to announce his return to Illinois in 2025. We broke their hearts that day and possibly again next week. Would be a weird turn of events...
