Whatever causes the SEC to have as many teams as possible LEFT OUT of the playoffs then I am for that scenario. UT or bust. None of this SEC bullshnizzle.
Only reason I disagree with this is because SEC success really does help our recruiting in the long run. As long as we are seen as the strongest conference, kids will continue to want to play here over other conferences. That's good for us.

Agree to disagree. They’ll want to play for those schools in the SEC that are on top. That’s why it has to be screw everyone but UT. This pull for the conference stuff is per bologna.

With the talk of only 63 scholarship players .. one of the things I enjoy keeping up with is the active roster every year .. so here are the current numbers:

76 players currently on scholarship
6 of those are ineligible (due to transfer) or injured (out for the year)

So the real number should be 70 scholarship players that could be played if the coaches wanted to play them. I'm wondering if there were 7 other players with injuries that kept them out of the KY game .. so the coaches said they only had 63 available scholarship players for the KY game.

Yeah, I guess that's why recruits talk about playing the toughest competition in the SEC. IIRC, Henry T. mentioned that at one point during his recruitment.

Being known as the toughest conference helps us. Not sure how this is even an argument.

So...
(1) How many recruits have we gotten due to being the toughest conference
vs.
(2) How many recruits have we lost to Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Auburn being in the upper echelon?

I’ll hang up and listen.

Bye week is at a really good time. Maurer was definitely rusty tonight. Still like the quarterback by committee. I think if one is off, bring in another. JG seems to do better when he's not the starter--maybe just a matter of getting the butterflies out..
I agree. But every time it happens VN melts down.

I might be biased. Please have a taxslayer bowl bid. I'd be here.
Here here! I’m starting to kick up some plans to go if we get bowl eligible and get that one, especially against Illinois, as I have a friend that’s an Illinois fan.

Real talk, if Bailey is starting next season as a True Freshman he will have earned it & be a stud.

Pruitt won’t hand the job over to anyone who has earned it. Honestly wouldn’t mind another season with JG starting...
Ok...let's not get too crazy here...I mean IF he could play consistently like he did last night, then I would agree...but...

Agreed. The SEC upper echelon teams being so good the past 10 years or so has killled us. Very difficult to rebuild when your going against bama, Georgia, and LSU teams that are as good as they have ever had. As opposed to maybe a solid top 20 type team.

It doesn’t help us in any way.

I think its hard to say at all at this point. I think Clemson is definitely going to win out, but LSU could lose in the SEC championship to Georgia. Georgia could lose to Auburn. Alabama could lose to Auburn. Ohio State could still lose to Penn State and/or Michigan, and Minnesota could be undefeated with a couple ranked wins heading into the BIG10 CG. A 1 loss Oregon or Utah will win the Pac12. Baylor could be undefeated and win the Big12 with several ranked wins.
The SEC is a slaughterhouse. This garbage about other conferences being equal is stupid. This is the deepest, most talented (Proven beyond a shadow of a doubt every freaking draft day) conference period, and will remain so. Their best can beat the SECs best, but other conferences are a joke depth wise.

Why on earth would Carolina go for 2 right there?

A few years back teams starting doing that and I thought it was dumb as hell until I heard it explained.

Down 14 they are saying the only way that can win is either go for two by scoring 15 or take the game into OT. Any score by the team leading and the game is over.

So when the team scores they are saying we are going for the win but by going for two the first TD they don’t automatically lose because if they don’t make it that still have a chance to get it the next time for OT

By waiting until the end to go for 2 you know it’s win or lose on one play. By going for it the first TD you then could either win/ lose or send the game to OT at the end.

Hope that makes sense
