Just watched a clip from Booger McFarland on SVP show where he pulls out a cigar. He said “every year it’s a tradition where winner lights up a cigar in Alabama Tennessee game. Alabama has been beating up on Tennessee and we all see them with the cigars. I don’t know if they can beat up Tennessee anymore. So for all my Tennessee friends this is for you. We whipped that butt for you.”

Went back and watched again “I don’t know if they will be able to beat Tennessee anytime soon”

Since losing to USC Georgia 17 points in 3 games, all by Florida.

Saturday's games worth watching are the noon game (Florida @ Missouri) & 3:30 game Georgia vs Auburn.

Our Special Teams being harped on is laughable, seriously.

If we want to see improvement on special teams it really comes down to kickoff returns & punt return defense/coverage more than anything else. And I think part of that is just us lacking great depth and team speed.

I’ve not seen anyone post anything different than you. Where is the harping?

Too early but in 2020 here's how it looks on paper

Drop off:
LB (other than TooToo)
WR
S
TE

Better:
QB
OL
RB
DB
DL
Punting
Kicking

One thing that's been kicking around in my head during this run is how crucial the Srs have been: Bituli, Warrior, Jennings, Callaway, and Taylor have been lights out. Then I start to worry about next year.

Then I realize if they improved that much in their second year with Pruitt who knows how much some of the underclassmen are going to improve in 2020. Going into this season I thought Warrior was a liability, dude has been amazing.

All that to say I wouldn't be surprised if a position like safety or tight end is better next year even if on paper they're losing really good players and it should be worse. I'm excited for the future, that's for sure.

Imagine being at the pinnacle of your programs history and still wanting to be like us. Just proves we are an ELITE of college football. I can’t wait to be winning championships again. We will be the hottest brand in college football.
Seeing the development of our players that taking place right now it won’t be long. When Pruitt gets a full roster of his recruits we’re gonna be right there

Great work Vol Nation! We put in the work to bring a little bit of recognition to JJ! Fan vote may mean nothing ultimately, but I'm happy to have had the chance to vote (many times) for JJ!

Oh heck yes.
With all the good things JJ has done and said about us..
Never had the delusion it gave him the award but it did exactly what I wanted, let him know how much we appreciate it all.

And thank you for bringing the link.

That sounds a lot different than what someone explained last night

Brooks is averaging 43.6 a kick & Doyle is averaging 41.4 a kick

Puts both in the top 75 for punting average in the entire country, puts Brooks in the top 35. Not "great" and there is room for improvement, but hardly "really poor"

Kickoff return has zero to do with kicking, but we've not had great KO returns.

Callaway's 17.6 a punt return has him in the top 3 though in the country, he's only had 8 returns though.
The new rules discouraging kickoffs have done just that. Few times I’d knock our guys is when they run it out and get tackled short of the 25. Or the dumb teaching moment when Chandler stepped out on the 10.

me neither....dunno what he's trying to say, didnt Georgia score 20 something on missouri this past weekend?

Georgia has given up just 17 points in their last 3 games, all of those 17 were scored by Florida. They've had 2 shutouts, which means the opponent in those games didn't score at all, which is 0 points.

Auburn is one dimensional and will not face a better rushing defense than Georgia.
