Our Special Teams being harped on is laughable, seriously.
If we want to see improvement on special teams it really comes down to kickoff returns & punt return defense/coverage more than anything else. And I think part of that is just us lacking great depth and team speed.
NO IT IS 80 DEGREESAnyone wake up to snow this morning? View attachment 237869
Too early but in 2020 here's how it looks on paper
Drop off:
LB (other than TooToo)
WR
S
TE
Better:
QB
OL
RB
DB
DL
Punting
Kicking
Seeing the development of our players that taking place right now it won’t be long. When Pruitt gets a full roster of his recruits we’re gonna be right thereImagine being at the pinnacle of your programs history and still wanting to be like us. Just proves we are an ELITE of college football. I can’t wait to be winning championships again. We will be the hottest brand in college football.
Great work Vol Nation! We put in the work to bring a little bit of recognition to JJ! Fan vote may mean nothing ultimately, but I'm happy to have had the chance to vote (many times) for JJ!
That sounds a lot different than what someone explained last nightJust watched a clip from Booger McFarland on SVP show where he pulls out a cigar. He said “every year it’s a tradition where winner lights up a cigar in Alabama Tennessee game. Alabama has been beating up on Tennessee and we all see them with the cigars. I don’t know if they can beat up Tennessee anymore. So for all my Tennessee friends this is for you. We whipped that butt for you.”
Went back and watched again “I don’t know if they will be able to beat Tennessee anytime soon”
The new rules discouraging kickoffs have done just that. Few times I’d knock our guys is when they run it out and get tackled short of the 25. Or the dumb teaching moment when Chandler stepped out on the 10.Brooks is averaging 43.6 a kick & Doyle is averaging 41.4 a kick
Puts both in the top 75 for punting average in the entire country, puts Brooks in the top 35. Not "great" and there is room for improvement, but hardly "really poor"
Kickoff return has zero to do with kicking, but we've not had great KO returns.
Callaway's 17.6 a punt return has him in the top 3 though in the country, he's only had 8 returns though.
me neither....dunno what he's trying to say, didnt Georgia score 20 something on missouri this past weekend?
