I like an 8-team playoff or no playoff. I also don't like bowl tie-ins to the playoffs. They should be a completely separate event IMO.

The rotating schedule of tie-ins is weird and winning whatever the first round playoff bowl is now and then losing in the NC is seen as a negative when in the past winning the Fiesta or Rose Bowl or whatever was a huge deal. Now it's just like "meh, we lost in the game that mattered"

Week 1 which the committee has shown that they don't weigh losses in the beginning of the year as heavy as they do as losses towards the end of the year as teams change over time.

This is true, and it's the reason why the conference championship and bowl games used to bring excitement of the underdogs having a chance to prove they were better than what a bunch of people thought about them because of who they played. Now there's only about 6 teams with a shot because all of the best athletes are going to those few. And we get to argue about who is the top 4 of those.

I wish the kids would spread out so we could actually have a good Pac 10 and ACC etc etc etc...but they don't. The SEC is the deepest, most talented (Proven beyond sane argument every freakin draft day) conference, and we are in it. I want the SEC to retain it's preeminence so that when we regain our rightful place it benefits us...otherwise I hope they all rot in hell.

I think we should keep it at 4 teams. However I think the BCS formula should determine the 4 best teams. Take the human element out of it. Something about that just doesn't seem right to me.

I was talking trash with a co-worker a few minutes ago that was raggin on me for being a Vol, after a couple of back and forths she said "Tennessee sucks" and I simply said back "Evansville.."...so help me I kid you not her exact words were "We are just warmin up, gotta let the little ones go to catch the big ones later"..

I legit had one of these guys tell me
"Oh I didn't even watch it. Didn't figure I needed to since it was a cupcake, so I just went to bed early."

Not ten minutes later this same idiot was making comments about how Murray St gave UT a scare early and were "up big" on us in the first half....... while im just standing there like "I thought you went to bed early?" Lol

I think they would if they thought they had a chance to get to the playoffs as a conference champion or a good team in the ACC, etc. Right now they think there are about 6 teams that give them a chance. I'm already getting tired of the same teams making it.

This is our dopey dog that chose us at the shelter a couple months ago. Had his DNA tested. 25% American Staffordshire Terrier, 25% Cocker Spaniel, 12.5% Boxer, 12.5% Doberman Pincer, 12.5% German Shepherd, and 12.5% Corgi. Not sure how the Corgi got in there but it just makes him a Tennessee Brown Dog!!

Haven't had her tested but ours is obviously high, high percentage black lab. The white chest marks are even textbook from a pic.

UT should do everything in its power to downplay SEC dominance. Screw all that. Before the conference took over, we were in our best position. We've never needed the label or association. Only teams like a&m, Mizzou, uk, and the rest need it to recruit kids "come play in the SEC" they say. We say "come play at Tennessee" and nothing else is needed.

Iirc BCS was half polls. Pollsters might be even worse than the committee. But yes it would remove a big portion of it and it wouldn't defer to the vast football expertise of the likes of Condoleeza Rice smh

Yes, but when both teams have the same record, they have taken into consideration if they played the same team.

Oregon in this hypothetical would also have played an extra game and beat a highly ranked Utah team.

Look..I get it, I hate all the rest of the SEC teams too, and outside of this they can all rot for all I care, but we are in this playoff shite together.

I am purely talking about the playoffs..nothing I said has a damn to do with recruiting. The playoff era is a far different one than the last time we were remotely relevant. How cool would it have been in 01 to get a playoff shot?

Yes. Because they attempted to play a big boy out of conference. Some years auburn may be in the top 2 of the sec. i think you should be rewarded for scheduling a prime time matchup instead of just playing cup cakes. If we lose to OU next year and we are sitting there on the playoff bubble, i would say the same thing about us. Or if we ended up their only loss and they swept through the big 12 i think they should be automatic in too.

FSU falling off is making it easy for Clemson, and that is on coaching, not recruiting...FSU has recruited fine.

I don't want the ACC to be a great conference, we need, really depend on a weak Maryland (Because of the tidewater kids) Virginia, Vtech, North Carolina, NC state and GT. We feast on talent from those states.

They lost..I respect them, but they lost...Pretty much the only game they have played against a real team, and they lost, and it wasn't even a great SEC team they lost to...just a run of the mill middle tier SEC team.
