Ok numbers guys, some of you were saying we needed to drop a couple more from the 85, other than seniors, to sign a full 25..

Where does the 3 new scholarships put us?

Trying to get some clarity in the other thread but I am nearly certain there is a rule that says a walk on has to be on campus at least one full year maybe 2 or they count against one years 25
I have to admit that I thought the same as you about the 2 year on campus rule. Others had posted it is now 1 year with the recent changes. Even if it is only 1 year, giving a scholarship to a true freshman PWO would be a counter towards the 25 limit for 2020.

There must be extenuating circumstances in this case or the initial counter rules are much different now. I just can't believe Pruitt would give away 3 spots in the 2020 class at this time.

I wonder if they aren’t on scholarship next year if that means the rule doesn’t apply

If it does work that way then Pruitt has found a big loop hole. Pruitt did say they have 3 scholarships available at the beginning of the video. These 3 took them up to 79 currently on scholarship. Looks like they would have 6 more available to get back to 85 if they are just temporary scholarships that will be taken away next year.

I mean the reason that rule is in place to stop programs from using the promise of a scholarship to recruit players. I think it’s a good rule in that sense

But if I am correct with the “loophole” I don’t think it’s a big loophole kind of thing because it would be extremely rare for a player to agree to come to school and have to pay for 1.5 years of their first 2. Not a real advantage in recruiting imo

Someone should start a thread where we can discuss the Mizzou game both before and during. Maybe have the OP of the thread give some stats and talk up the game. Maybe give a prediction and then others could follow suit and give their predictions.

Nah, that's a terrible idea.
Prompting someone just in the nick of time.

I mentioned this in the player thread but doesn’t the walk ons we gave scholarships to today affect our 25 number in this class ??
No. Only the 85. Whenever Kasim Hill meets the criteria, he’ll get a scholarship and not count against a class.
