It's very nice to see a coach making the perfect play call for what the other team is doing. Ansley/Pruitt have been consistently doing it since the Miss St game and the lining up problems have gone away.

Cheney is doing it on the offensive side and players have been executing. We can safely say that we will be a well coached team moving forward... just need to recruit more studs.

It’s really amazing when you stop and think about it. Most people left this team for dead after are 1-4 start. Media included, especially finebaums punk arse. Yet here we are, and not only are we here but we’re playing are best ball late in November. When was the last time we saw that happen? 1-4 to 8-5 sounds pretty good right about now, but 5-3 in the SEC is the biggest improvement to me.

We’ve got to recruit better to take the next step.
Hopefully we see it in the next few weeks, but this will probably translate to next years class. It seems we start off hot recruiting then dies down during the season....luckily for us we return everyone and we're looking at a pretty good 2020 season. Next fall should be fun with winning, improving and recruiting those top 10 classes.

That starts with seasons like this. We had to crawl out of the gutter. Seems like we’ve done that. It’ll give us recruiting momentum in 2021 class. Maybe a little in 2020 but most recruits have already established relationships with coaches and know where they’re going.

Next year we should go 8-4 or 9-3 with a nice upset win to show that we are continuing to make progress

Speaking of basketball Memphis only beat Ole Miss by 1 point last night

I had that game on one of my TVs. Memphis had a 16 point lead with 8 minutes left. They struggled to put OM away. In the end, Memphis missed 5-6 free throws in under a minute. That kept giving OM opportunities. They really struggled to finish the game.

Random, but it feels good that we will be in position to be able to redshirt our incoming OL and DL next year.

We could potentially redshirt Baron, Big O, Bailey, Ox, and Hardy (depending if we get these guys)...that's a lot of talent that we could play 4 games and redshirt..kind of insane.

I am curious about what RF guys think about JG coming back for another season.

Part of me says it would be good so they can give HB a season to mature.

The other part of me says it is time to hand over the job to the golden child.

I know it doesn't matter what I think. JG and the staff will decide that. However, is JG earning the trust back of Vol nation because he has made some really bonehead decisions and bad plays in critical moments through the years. Has he turned the corner enough to trust him with next season?
I think crowning a High School senior, before he's played or practiced one snap in college, as the heir apparent is putting the cart before the horse. I want HB to be as good as everyone else does but, my allegiance is to the program first and if that means JG succeeding before HB, so be it.

Let the kid redshirt, JG to continue to learn and grow under Chaney, and continue to have this offense and program prosper through senior leadership.
