One more before I head off to church. I know we all want a strong run game. This O and roster is not ready for that yet. Chaney knows this. He is riding with his strength at receiver on O and using the run game to counter punch to keep the D's honest. The O-line development has focused on pass-pro. They are using the TE/HB/RB to help on blitzes and they are doing a good job for the most part. The Bama game proved that this was the correct approach. The run game will expand next season, however, the staff needs to recruit a couple of studs at RB for it to get where we all want it. We've got a stable of specialty backs now.

We know the O will be schemed for a line of pass-pro and running game maulers going forward by the current roster and commitments. That tells me to expect what we saw Chaney do at UGA in the pass game to go with what CJP saw to do with the power run game at Bama. I am good with all of that and will patiently wait for it to happen as the roster gets built.

The upside for this program is unlimited.

I'm tired of soft ass people smh. We would basically get mauled back in the day if we made a mistake, that mentally needs to make its way back.

But the media is only THIS "soft" if it's TN??? This stuff honestly happens around cfb every week and it's either not mentioned or sometimes even praised?

I am curious about what RF guys think about JG coming back for another season.

Part of me says it would be good so they can give HB a season to mature.

The other part of me says it is time to hand over the job to the golden child.

I know it doesn't matter what I think. JG and the staff will decide that. However, is JG earning the trust back of Vol nation because he has made some really bonehead decisions and bad plays in critical moments through the years. Has he turned the corner enough to trust him with next season?

I want JG back and let HB get time to learn the system and adapt to college life. A 5th year senior who has some talent and will be in his second year with the OC is just going to run the offense better than any true freshman, no matter how good he may ultimately turn out.

and people in the RF had as much doubt as those in the FF after that 1st game. Couldn't believe what they had just witnessed.
Fact of the matter is; we all came around to see things differently as the Vols improved
We have our share of negas, but it's not the same level of caustic pestilence that exists pretty much all the time over there.

We played a lot of zone last night it looked like, which I did not like at all. Looks like our game plan was to play zone, stay in our lanes when rushing Bryant and prevent him from trying to get free. We wanted to make him beat us throwing the ball. I honestly don’t like playing zone, as we play so much better when we are in man coverage and playing aggressive. However, we won. That’s all that matters.
We played zone because if we played man Bryant could have run all over us. Tough to play man against a running qb.

If you haven't turned off the thing in your mind that says to pay attention to what the media thinks is important - you should. They have agendas. I still have not gotten over the Chris Fowler's trailer park trash comments. You just don't...

Which is why the media is tubing before the eyes of many Americans. There are many good commentators, journalists and writers who take the hit because of the scoundrels. Maybe the good guys will rise from the ashes of their industry and rebuild it based on truth and respect for others.

Go back and watch replay of first TO just before half. Pruitt on sideline looking at a Missouri defense. He just starts running around then goes straight at ref to call TO. I think He saw something that he didn’t like with our call and their alignment. Yeah you hate to burn the TO but I sure would hate to turnover the ball there too.

Can it be safely assumed that the lasting memory of JG won’t be anywhere close to the zip code of that sideline disappointment against Georgia Tech? Can we at least retire THAT tired narrative?
Most of us will. There will be a precious few who will bring it up the next time he throws a pick.

Yes and I think we had a 25 yard reception coming out of the TO.

Can someone explain the one play with 18 at QB?

It was almost very costly

Someone said there was a issue with JGs cast, or he needed to come out because he was bothered by his hand. Something along those lines. Don’t know if true.
