Here's the thing, who said he was calling his own plays and going rogue? I never heard Pruitt or the coaches say that...can't let the narrative by the outside the loop media paint you into an opinion that may completely be founded on unproven truths.
I don't get why some QBs get a pass for doing the exact same sort of thing JG has been accused of, Maurer forces throws or takes unnecessary risk running RPOs in ways that could be called selfish but he's "trying to win" or "playing with emotion" meanwhile JG is trying to do the same thing but he's "selfish" and "playing for himself"...what's the deal? The decision at Bama wasn't smart but it's a single instance. And I guarantee you JG making that decision had nothing to do with glory chasing, he probably assumed (like most people would) that running the same play that didn't work before was one they'd be ready for so he tried to do something different, and it backfired. But he made the decision trying to help the team win that game absolutely nothing about JG, the staff, or his teammates has even come close to making him out to be a selfish player.
He was trying to do too much, most QBs do that. Especially 4th year guys who are feeling the burden of everything wrong at UT on their shoulders. Once he learned to just trust his teammates that's when things turned around, but Jordan Rodgers (who in the same broadcast said his former teammate was a 4.7 or 4.6 guy, but actually ran a 4.46 laser timed 40 at the combine) trying to hammer home some axe he's grinding about JG being selfish just isn't a narrative I think we as fans should buy into.
You wanna compares Florida’s qb issue to ours and say they did a better job coaching in those circumstances?I agree with you that Florida hasn’t done anything crazy but i think losing a QB and going through the season with trash, almost beating Georgia...that was a very good coaching job. That’s why i said i would put mullens season over pruitts. If we didn’t lose to GA state And BYU, Pruitt is hands down 2nd.
Pruitt has had an excellent 2nd half of the season, but you can’t give him a total pass for the start especially with the amount of players we returned from his 1st year.
TA&M got absolutely hosed by the officials yesterday. Some of the videos in this link are crazy.
Fans hammer SEC officials for questionable non-calls in Georgia-Texas A&M game
They aren’t even trying to hide it anymore with their protection of the playoff teams.
There is zero doubt in my mind if Oregon plays in the SEC they win yesterday.
Whatever team wants him will ask the Tennessee team doctors what they're doing to "control" the clots. Then they'll ask experts and come up with a plan. He's proving this year that he can play with the diagnosisSure. No doubt he’s a first round talent. I’m just assuming he falls based upon health concerns.
JJ should have a great combine and go in the 3-4th.So I think Callaway goes in round 3-4. Trey 4-5. Bituli and Taylor 4-6 depending on testing. JJ maybe gets drafted and Warrior makes a team as an UDFA.
Should look pretty decent to have 4-5 guys get drafted. If that happens and we get off to a good start next year, we should have a monster recruiting class.
