But losing one to injury only to have it proven that the backup should have been chosen by the coaches all along, does not prove a better coaching job...to coaches managing a QB that could not perform in games as well as practice to have him come off the bench then return as a starter to throw for 400 yards in a game against a top 10 defense. Unless of course you're still trying to prove that we should love Mehlen more than Pruitt.JG was supposed to be the guy and proved to be our “best qb”. We really didn’t lose any QBs so to speak.
Franks was no doubt their guy and they lost him for almost the entire season.
Both crappy situations, i think losing one to injury as opposed to one not meeting expectations is different.
I think after dealing with the possibility of never making it to the NFL because of a condition that people said would end his football career, he will jump at the chance to get his millions if given a shot.I think Trey will come back for his senior season. Obviously the ability is there for a first round pick but many teams will hesitate due to past condition. He will likely show that after playing two years with condition opens up more teams to clear him.
I completely agree. But both of those games would be close games. I would rather end with 8 for sure wins and not risk losing the bowl game. We have a lot of momentum and dragging a middle tier big ten team again would be great for our first bowl under Pruitt. I want to close with the best recruiting class that we can and beating a team handily in our bowl game will help with that.Beating a PSU or Michigan would be.... Awesome
I get it. But if we play one of those two teams.. There's no sin in losing.I completely agree. But both of those games would be close games. Something to keep in mind to temper expectations for next year. Still think our over/under win total will be 8.5, mostly because I don’t think all the crappy teams in the East will get any better, and we switch out Miss. St. for an atrocious Arkansas team.
Except when your next man up is some buster that didn’t start in high school. (Which i know is bogus)Different yeah... But from a personnel management standpoint there's not really any debate as to which one required the most from the coaches... You could argue Florida had it easy in comparison... Just next man up... lol
