@ob79 was placed to patrol the elementary school streets and put a stop to a known drug cartel shady shadester, @David Ubben . Little did @David Ubben know, @ob79 had super secret information and weapons, funded by @Atlanta VOL .

Ol copper @ob79 went against the books and hired a clan of midgets, dressed them up as kids and caught the shyster dealing bootleg cigarettes himself and now @David Ubben is trying to bring the University down and hit @ob79 and @Atlanta VOL in the feels for the ultimate revenge.

Sad story, tbh.
I heard he got the youngsters hooked on coffee.

Lol you act like we’re 10-2 lol and you have this big fat i told you so moment. No one knew Missouri, South Carolina, and Miss state would be god awful.

Like i said a min ago, I’m happy as hell the way the season turned out but they are still plenty of questions to be had. None of those can be answered until we play Oklahoma and Florida next year tho. That will really tell us if we have arrived or not.
we've been underdogs in every game we've won, save UAB. and lettuce not foget we're god awful too with a coach some thought wouldn't make it to the end of the season.

either folks recognize what has happened for what it is, or you don't. doesn't matter to me, but no one is saying we've "arrived"....well, no one that matters anyway.

but dont' start moving the goal posts. 6 weeks ago it was going to be a miracle if we won 4 or 5 games.

now, "we won't really know til we play florida or OU"......next year?

c'mon. it's at the very least the equivelant of the most ardent sunshiine pumper's version of "wait til next year, then we'll show 'em!" the only difference is the desired result.

lol.

You can say the same for the dogs.

@David Ubben is responsible for Uga's sad state and over breeding.

Yeah, uhm, you're wrong. You need to pay attention when I'm talking to you. lol. This was our preseason projections from FPI which I posted at the time. As you can see we were expected to be slightly favored against the teams you mentioned.

Man I wish we could play GSU and BYU over again. 9-3 and this recruiting cycle would be looking a lot differently...

Those first two games will continue to sting. I am proud of how the team has fought back and have turned it around. But man, we could've been 9-3 and going to an even better bowl game. Heck, if we had started off right, who knows what we could've done. Oh, well. Gotta stop looking in the rearview. The view out the front is looking good!

You were going to have to extend Pruitt even if we went 3-9 this year. It was the only way to salvage a recruiting class or potential assistants coming or going. Extend and give your coach a raise all you want, just always keep their buyout do-able bc you never really know.

But can you extend without making the buyout that much bigger? If you can, great, but then it is a fairly meaningless extension since it doesn't cost you any more to fire him.

Look, I hope and pray Pruitt is the guy. I really like him and tend to think that he is the coach we have been waiting for and will get this thing going again. But Texas felt the same way about Tom Herman after he won 10 games in his second year with a conference championship game appearance and an UGA beat down in the Sugar Bowl. They gave him a raise and extension and are now really regretting it, as he will be heading into year four squarely on the hot seat.

i'm still surprised they haven't been able to capitalize on last seaosn on the recruiting trail. they beat OU and GA, wona NY6 bowl game and fell flat this season big time.

i don't know that i xpected them to be world beaters...but i didn't expect the be a .500 team either. and if you at UT Austin and can't recruit TX.............you got problems. that said, this year's class is looking up. they'd probably do themselves a favor by calming down and letting him continue to build it....

I, for one, was sick after GS. But couldn't disagree with Hank more, after that. What I saw at BYU was some new to the system mistakes and just unfortunate QB play.
But the game plan and turnaround from the players in just that week, restored my confidence that we were still in this thing, with this staff.

The recruiting for Texas had been going gangbusters. They were ranked #5 before the season started and only needed to fill a few spots. They were getting 2021's in and already had their QB and a OT for that class that is still ranked #2 FWIW. Then the season happened and they've lost a few commits, with concerns that others may bolt. Herman is going to have to overhaul his staff, and they may cost a few commits who have good relationships with coaches that aren't retained.

Herman is reminding me a bit of Butch Jones in that he came in with a system and a group of assistant coaches that he brought with him from a smaller conference, and that initial "alignment" and the newness of his system produced some early success. Now teams in the Big 12 seem to have figured out his offense and Todd Orlando's defense, and know how to stop/attack them. The question for Herman now is whether he will be able to bring in some new ideas and perspectives and adapt in response. If he does and lets them have the autonomy to implement what they want to do, like Coach O at LSU he could thrive. If he keeps stubbornly beating his head against the wall trying to make his system work, then he's going to fail like Butch did.

I think this is short sighted.. Both Texas and Texas A&M are probably going to be pretty good going forward. They're both recruiting really well and both lost a lot from last year's teams. I thought they would both be down this year but both, especially A&M, have done a bit better than I expected. I think they're going to improve a lot next year. jmo.

For reference, last year both hauled in top 5 recruiting classes and right now both are sitting in the top 10 for this year. Coming into this season A&M was ranked #102 in raw returning production and Texas was ranked #121. I think they're both going to be fine. jmo.

You may be right, but the mood in Austin right now is very similar to Knoxville at this point in 2016. Just to give you an idea, on the Surly Horns message board, the "Urban Meyer or Bust" thread is up to 735 posts. Lots of whispers coming out of the program that makes you wonder if it's all about to collapse.

I don't think it is that bad, and if they keep the class together, they will have three top 5 or top 10 classes to stack on top of each other. If you watch their games, it does seem like a lot of the problems are coaching, rather than talent, related. Lots of opposing defenses knowing exactly what is coming, lots of personal foul penalties and sloppiness, incredibly poor tackling, and dreadful special teams play outside of the kicker. Nothing that isn't fixable, but the first step is recognizing the problem and being willing to respond with a change in approach.
