I was around during the Fulmer OC era. He was much maligned. Many at the time were saying this is what you get when you name your OL coach as a coordinator.

In no way shape or form is Pittman a good hire lol. He hasn’t ever been a coordinator and was only a juco HC 26 years ago. You aren’t going to pull elite classes at Arkansas so you need a creative coach to scheme around that. Maybe he will get that in his coordinators

UGA OC Coley name could be mentioned for the FAU opening. He has strong connections to South Florida area. UK OC Eddie Gran too and Taggert name might come up too.

Delete if you need to Freak:

I rolled the dice and bought 3 Music City Bowl tickets today. I'll just put them on Ticketmaster for sale unless you guys know of someone who needs 3 in section 313--row N--seat 8,9,10. I bought them for $80 each and I'm not trying to make any money on the resale.
Music City Bowl gonna have more trigger happy Vol fans than Louisville fans

Think he's wanting away from Georgia/Kirby in general and sees this as a way to make some extra cash before retiring?

I think if they wanted, they could pull someone with HC experience from a smaller school. Hell, hire Barry Odom. He's unemployed.
My point is that there are no guarantees in coaching hires. Their last coach had many of the things you say Pittman lacks and we saw how that turned out. Pruitt lacked many of the things that Morris had and he seems to be doing ok. A football coach is a football coach. Most here thought coach O would fail miserably, me included. Would I want Sam Pittman here as a head coach of the Vols? Heck no. I think he could be a solid hire. Head coaches have to get their chance somewhere and they all don't have to come from the coordinator ranks, imo.

You have no idea whether he will be successful or not.

I’m not railing against his hire. Weirder things have worked. But to defend it by knocking Fulmer is a beyond odd angle.

Orgeron has been a head coach and interim multiple times..... are you really trying to gas up a Sam Pittman for HC hire 😂😂😂
Did you think Ed O would be where he is today? 😅😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Forgive me if I take your opinion with a huge grade of slaw. We haven't coined the term "Hank's takes" for nothing. 😂😂🤣😅😅😂😅🤣😂
