Thanks. Good assessment. I consider myself a ‘realist’ but I could see how that would be misconstrued as negativity by a certain crowd. I was down on both Dooley (after the KY game) and Jones (during the second 9 win season) before lots of people and caught plenty of flack over it.

I actually like Pruitt a lot and think he’s a better fit for us than any of the last 3 coaches. He’s got some in-game coaching issues but he seems to be learning on the job fairly well. Given Smart’s recruiting success at GA, I also thought Pruitt would be a superstar recruiter here but that hasn’t happened yet. We’ll see. Maybe this is the year it starts. That’s not negative. Just a real, honest opinion.

I’ll say this: I’ve seen the temperature of this board change a lot over the last 10 years. That’s one of the reasons I don’t post as often anymore. There used to be some intelligent (but heated) back-and-forth between posters. Now it’s a feeding frenzy. Think I’ll slip back in the cave and lurk for a while, It’s not a whole lot of fun here at the moment.

@Freak — I hope you and yours are doing well.
I think Kirby inherited a much better situation than Pruitt, so he started with a huge advantage in recruiting. And that's not including how much talent the state of Georgia produces compared to Tennessee, giving Kirby the edge in selling the in-state school. So I think expecting Pruitt to come right in and recruit at the level of KS was unrealistic.

UGA was successful under Richt, just not successful enough for the fans. And honestly, even with those great recruiting classes, KS is on the same path as Richt with very comparable records so far. Pruitt, imo, is already showing an elevation in play compared to Butch. Pruitt is actually having to rebuild a program, something Kirby didn't face, and that should be noted if we're going to talk reality.

Recruiting is tied to the success of the program. If Pruitt can continue to improve, recruits will take notice. The problem with UT fans is we are impatient and want success over night. That's not realistic. So if you're a realist, you have to realize between Kiffin, Dooley, and Butch, our program was in horrible shape. It's a deep hole to climb out of, but thus far, Pruitt has shown he's doing that. It may not be at the pace we want, but maybe the pace we want isn't realistic.

Fight me, Ronald. Pick your medieval weapon and let's dance to the harmonious melody of Poseidon mistress.

Does anyone really love the sole taste of coffee? I know a few genuinely do but I just can't enjoy it.

Give me a cup of caffeinated water. Or caff water with lemon.

To follow up on the Gibbs thought, it appears Syracuse did this with 2 players last year and their bowl was Dec 28th. Some hope...

"When Adams’ first heard of the possibility that he could play in a bowl game, he didn’t believe it. But both Adams and Jackson transferred to SU for the spring semester, making the end of the fall 2018 semester the completion of a “year of residency,” which is required by the NCAA. This made the players eligible for the game, and the redshirt rule allowed the game to not waste a year of eligibility."

New rule grants Syracuse transfers playing time, 3 touchdowns in Camping World Bowl
Did gibbs already use his redshirt at Georgia?
