Phase One: I personally believe Pruitt wanted to bring in some old SEC dogs to set the culture, teach these dudes how to push hard in practice and play on Saturdays like SEC players, the first couple of years. All the while, find 3 or 4 guys that can carry the recruiting load, at a time that immediate playing time was bound to yield some talent.

Now that the culture is set and the roster is in better shape - and thereby more difficult to recruit to - bring in some dynamic young coaching talent to recruit like crazy top to bottom as a staff. If they're 3/4 the coach of our previous guys and 10x the recruiters, we'll be just fine and then some.

Needless to say, its very exciting to be entering a new phase of this rebuilding. I'll call it Phase Two."

The only hires I worry about Pruitt making are on the offensive side, but even when he made a wrong move in Helton he recognized it, and rectified it immediately and hired a elite replacement (I don't care what any of the idiots think, IMO Cheney is elite, he is the most versatile OC around, IMO that makes him elite)

And he had Osovet in his back pocket and now Chip Long. Got to like that he has a pipeline and a plan so he doesn't have to look outside often on the offensive side (unless it's for no brainers like Tee, Jim, and Jay).

I think questioning THAT guy on defensive hires is absurd...especially when it is abundantly obvious that these were not knee jerk reactions, but planned out wants as coaches. It sounds like bitching just to be bitching...like Bruin.

That was good. The YouTube video of CJP's pregame speech with him yelling "more steam" send chills up my spin. If you don't get hyped by that then you need to check your pulse for signs of life.

NO I DON'T! Didn't you say he was the guy helping us with Payton Page??? How's that working out? Also, did you watch our QB's this year? JG regressed. He was horrendous. And neither Shrout nor Maurer were coached up to take the job from him. I don't trust this dude as a recruiter or as a coach. Even if he is the nicest guy on earth.

There was most definitely an undeniable correlation between 3rd down success on defense and Lil Jon being played. We were #2 in the nation in 2015, with peak Lil Jon being spun.
