We were going to adopt a rescue a few years back and were denied because of this. We live out on a decent chunk of land with a minimal of neighbours. Ended up just rescuing a mixed breed off Craigslist. Some dogs really should be inside dogs most of the time but many would prefer to be outside.
I kid you not, one of the shelter workers asked me if I would leave my child outside.
Ha, we went to do the same thing but they were wanting $400 to rescue them. They also didn't want to give us a dog because our 7 year old wasn't that great with dogs (he wasn't mean to them, just shy). I remember thinking " your back-up plan to kill the poor thing". Something I think the rescue people are the dog's worst enemies.
We ended up buying a dog off Craigslist too, although he was a bred dog.
Interesting tidbit from the Investopedia daily newsletter:
“The Chinese government has mobilized on all fronts to backstop the economy. It is easing lending restrictions on banks, softening some tax rules on consumers, pledging over $10 billion to fight the virus, and releasing 20,000 tons of frozen pork from its reserve.
“Yes, China has a strategic pork reserve. They keep approximately 200,000 tons.”
I’m not saying they should play. They should be allowed to keep going to class unless there is another issue. Not totally disagreeing with you but there’s no way you can compete with an accused athlete...has to be resolved. You win games or (egad) a championship with an eventually convicted rapist and you can’t walk that back. Gotta be one of the worst feelings in the world to be innocent of a crime but reduced to a pariah until exonerated...like AJ Johnson.
Question for the pet owners, do you all leave your pets outside for an extended period of time? I believe some animals prefer to be outside, when I was growing up, our dogs stayed outside, so it was normal to me. As I've gotten older, the dogs stay in the house.
The reason i ask, is because on our neighborhood app, a neighbor made the comment that he leaves his dogs outside unless its extremely cold or rains, and they lit into his ass. I didnt see a problem, because they are his dogs and he says that they enjoy it. Some lady even said she was calling the people on him....
Midnight snack for the lion.My neighbor lost a Yorkie to a coyote a few years ago.Our pets (2 dogs & 2 cats) love being outdoors, and they let us know when they want back in. However, we always bring them in at night because pets tend to get eaten in rural NM (grey foxes, bobcats, coyotes, and the worst - mountain lions). Last year our neighbor to the south lost both of his cats one night to a mountain lion.

During the day the wild animals don't bother them? Do the wild animals avoid people? Our pets (2 dogs & 2 cats) love being outdoors, and they let us know when they want back in.
