Mehlen is definitely a good qb coach imo, didn't realize he developed the entire fb team.

We get mad at our assistants when a position group doesn't do well, sounds like Mullen dosen't even use them. State should have out bid Fl by just getting rid of all those useless salaries

Leach is funny but this stuff would wear so thin if he wasn't winning or was in a pressure filled job. Even if he was a consistent 9-3 guy we would be ready to run him out of town for these types of pressers after year 3-4 if he couldn't beat Bama, UGA, UF, etc.

We very well may win this Saturday, but how we have blind optimism on the backs of losses to G State and BYU is pretty amazing.

Florida has their deficiencies but also three wins to go with it.

Yeah I think you’re right. If this season goes to ****, recruiting is hurt but it won’t be a catastrophe. Probably somewhere around the 20th ranked class would be where we land.

It doesn’t allow us that big step up we needed, so we’re probably in the same position next year - hoping for an 8 or 9 win season so that recruiting will really take off.

What’s so disappointing about this season is that we’ve delayed ourselves by a year at best. And made 2020 a make or break year when the schedule is tougher and the margin for error is slimmer.

Unless we start winning. Season isn't over yet.

SCs problem is the stick for a good coach is 3 straight 11 win seasons now.

Pretty good ain't good enough anymore.

Clemson's rise is not helping either.

We will not have to worry about being worse than 9-3 if the staff signs a top QB every year. Players know who can get it done. It's the most important position on the team. That doesn't mean a staff cannot develop a lesser known to being a great QB. There are a handful of good QB developing coaches out there. Overall, it just means your talent pool is deeper and your odds go up significantly.

Yeah, that’s fair. I guess I’m projecting best case scenario as still not being good enough.

But beat Florida (and Mississippi State to a lesser degree) and this thing probably turns around quickly.
