Do not underestimate the power of the Tennessee brand now that kids will have the ability to make money on their likeness. This selling point that we have is taking a massive toll on other schools. There are plenty of hard core facts and data that clearly show kids the loyalty and size of the fan base is one that will be extremely profitable long term and while we hit this upslope. The numbers we are showing are based on the years that we have been in the cellar so you can imagine what those numbers guys can show these families under the assumption our teams will continue to improve and contend for the SEC. We have been SO far ahead of the curve here compared to other schools and you are seeing it pay huge dividends....

Haven't been on in a while so this may have already been discussed a thousand times. But what are some of the positive things you guys have seen that will come out of this ordeal? Or ways you've adapted that you hope to continue. For me, the first week it started locking down I had an idea to try to play darts over video calls with 2 of my best friends. One of them lives in Washington state and the other south Florida. So I only get to see them once every few years. But we figured it out and now we see each other and play darts 3 to 5 times a week. Which has really been awesome. And we plan to continue even when things get back to normal. I hadn't played darts in over ten years since moving to Texas, but I used to play all the time so getting back into that has also been great. Just curious if anyone else had similar ways of adapting. I had actually never done a video call before this so had to learn how. Hahahaha
Household projects and new ways to do things as a family..

Good to see you on and very cool story. Switching days with my wife on teaching our kids their online elementary school stuff has mad5us take more interest in their school after this is over.

Oh, and I also learned that you should wash your hands after you poop so I'll probably keep that going.. unless I'm serving food or on a quick work break....seems like a pointless waste of time.

How do you avoid breaking the web cam with the darts?

Hope Phil is still the AD when bama comes calling. Just don’t trust the Haslams to hire someone competent after him. At a minimum, Pruitt will leave us better than where we were since he’s recruiting SEC athletes unlike butch.

These are the recruiting class rankings for the past 20 years according to 247. I didn’t adjust for attrition and transfers are not included. There has been some chatter about the average rating for the guys in our 2021 class right now but I looked at a 5-year average (2015-19) for almost 20 “blue blood” teams and I don’t think that tells you a lot. For example, Alabama’s top 40 players may average out to 94.50 or so per guy but their total roster average is brought down by the balance of their roster to 92.98. Our top 40 guys this year looks to be around 93.63 so we have quite a drop off in the non-blue chip portion of our roster.

There were a lot of expectations for our 2015 and 2016 teams because we had recruited well in 2014 and 2015. We obviously had some coaching issues but that’s not what this note is about. We are largely in the same talent bucket as Florida and Oklahoma and when our recruiting is on the upswing we generally have more success on the field. Duh! The last time we had a run at “being back” we flamed out but owing to the staff we have now, and Pruitt in particular, having been there and done that, I think we’re apt to “be back” sooner rather than later. I think there’s a decent probability we could beat both Oklahoma and Florida this year. jmo.

On a related note, I wouldn’t mind at all if Alabama and Florida went back to pulling in classes ranked in the 40’s. jmo.

We get Zach Evans, it’s on, man. Evans behind this O-line transforms the outlook of the team for me. We’re a solid team, but we need dynamic, instant impact playmakers to have a shot at the big boys.

Divorced the wife...shipped the kids off to boarding school (not sure if it was even open, but sent them anyway)...bought a liquor store for my own private use and invested in a toilet paper factory. All in all, the "Covid Crisis" has been a pretty good experience.
