I am fried jake...not even gonna deny it, I may really end up in the pokie if one more virtue signaling fool gets in my grille.

I need to get away and chill, but thanks to the shi*heads in charge of all the great places to visit..I can't yet.

Forgot how poorly our offense played in the 98 SEC Championship.

Wilson returned a INT for a TD. Got called back for block in the back. Then Henry fumbled the ball.

Stroke worthy rage right there.
it was like several games we played that year....cringeworthy, til it wasn't.

I really started noticing how many of our big time recruits are coming on the defensive side of the ball under Pruitt. Made me think back to an article by Bill C. where he mentioned how paper talent on defense is more valuable than on offense, from his research. So much so that in a reworked model of finding a correlation between paper talent and on-field success, he adds approximately 4% to a defensive player's rating, while subtracting 4% from an offensive player. He also found combining this with the Pareto Principle (80/20) yielded a stronger correlation than just using a weighted 4-year recruiting average.

So, with that in mind, I wanted to see what percentage of our recent coaches' top 20% of recruits were on defense. To keep it simple, I just looked at the top 5 recruits from each class. This includes the 2021 class as of now. Pruitt recruiting top-heavy on defense only improves the value of his paper talent, compared to past coaches. It is basically like getting a multiplier effect on those recruits most likely to impact your team.

Pruitt 13/20 (65%)
Jones 12/25 (48%)
Dooley 6/15 (40%)

Interesting statistic. Many of the offensive positions are developmental. OL, TE, QB are positions that are difficult to make an impact early, Freshman and Sophomore year. They are also typically the positions that are hard to evaluate due to the projection aspect. Those positions make up 7 of 11 offensive spots.

Where the Defense is very athletically driven and is easier to evaluate. ALA making it easier for the recruiting services to be right. It’s also easier to see the field earlier on Defense (except DL). Leaving 8 of 11 spots open for early playing time.
