Sat on a plane next to Bruce Pearl, after he was fired.

Back when I was in POTS, met Phil Fulmer when we did a pep band for an event. Also met John Ward when he came to talk to the band. Both were in the early 90's while Fulmer was still coach and before John Ward retired. Doug Dickey came to talk to us as well. He was an azzhole. Met Allan Houston as well. It was the year after he graduated, at the SEC tournament. He came to watch the Vols and sat next to the pep band. Remember sitting in a lobby at a hotel(I think it was in Arkansas) as Pat Summitt chewed out a player after a game. That was intense. Met several Lady Vols during that time period.

I saw Bruce at Tupelo Honey in Knox in Feb 2014 sitting at a table with 3 other dudes with UT pins on their suit jackets. That was before Cuonzo bailed and Tyndall had been hired but the petition was in full force. I was 100% sure I was witnessing the first of a few informal meetings that was gonna lead to him being back.

Good thread going on 247 about random celebrity meetings/experiences. All I had was Pat Summitt, Bob Kesling, Brian Adams, Jeneane Garofalo, and my sister's story about Elon Musk trying to get her to have a threesome with he and his wife lol. Guess I'll throw in Louise Mandrell too (if any hardcore country fans know her...sister of Barbara) but she is just relative, so don't really consider it.

But one guy had met MLK. Another sat beside Bill Clinton on a plane. Can anyone top those two?
Met Martina Navratalova coming out of the Wild horse Saloon in Nashville one night several years ago.

Took a flight from Charlotte to Vegas once with Ric Flair about 17 or so years ago, I think I was 23yo. When we deboarded I went up to him and asked for an autograph for a buddy who was a huge RF fan. Flair freaked out on me, thought I was paparazzi or something lol. I was like, no man, I just sat a few rows behind you on the plane, I’m just a fan. He cooled off a bit and signed my notebook or whatever I had. Then the entire time we’re both waiting at baggage claim he kept giving me weird looks. I think he was coked out of his mind or something. Either way, it was an interesting way to meet Ric Flair.

And men who've been married for any length of time learn to keep that poker face when a smokin' hot young gal hits the screen or you pass 'em on the street. Let the mind race if you want, but never let your face give away your thoughts.

this is the type of advice you pay someone for.

For the wrestling fans, I met Sgt. Slaughter when I was a kid. He did a show on the navy base we lived on and me and my dad went. Did a meet and greet afterwards.
Met Mouth of the South Jimmy Hart. Super nice guy. That was his bar/restaurant his stories are crazy

Let's see... I've met Johnny Depp and Joe Perry at their closed off band rehearsal in Hollywood (bc I know Joe Perry's son, who was in our band). Met Joaquin Phoenix and John C Reilly at an INSANE Hollywood hills house party (most awesome moment of my life). Got to go take a private Paramount studios tour and watch a pre screening of a movie with the director and actors there...

Yeah. LA is kinda fun when you have the right contacts.

I told jake bently I was a better quarterback than him and all his friends laughed at him and dapped me up. He was extremely mad but was a good sport about it. I think I’m the reason he ran off to Utah.

At the UGA-USC game here in cola a couple years ago, I juked out tom crean hard. He’s clearly yet to recover

Got on a early morning flight out of Mobile early 2000's with the entire Monday Night Nitro WWE team... sat with Diamond Dallas Page, Hardy Boys, The Undertaker, etc... Best part was three weeks later I got on an early morning flight out of Manchester NH and they were on it again... totally recognized me and we had a big laugh...

Met Jim Gaffigan once. I've been told I look like him and the first thing he said when he saw me was, "Wow, it's not easy looking like us, is it?"

Also met Kane and the Undertaker when they had an event while Jacobs was running for mayor. I love Kane, but meeting Undertaker in particular was like meeting an actual superhero.

Was in Aruba 2006 at LG Steakhouse and right after my family sat down, they closed it down because Mikhail Gorbachev made a surprise stop off in Aruba and he and his entourage ate across from us... There was a total of 5 coupled/families and his group. They got super rowdy and at one point when my wife was taking my daughter to the bathroom he leaned back in his chair and gave my daughter a high five and a high five to her stuffed bunny...
