I want Clemson to fall just like everyone else here. But I would urge you to google Dabo and Woody McCorvey and watch his 4 minute acceptance speech for the Coach of the Year award in January, 2019. I had seen it before and thought it was a great story, especially considering our ties to McCorvey.

Dabo may not be a deep thinker like Pat Forde suggests. But I'm not a huge fan of Forde's either, and he loves to create some controversy.

Coach Majors and Coach Dye both represent an era of football and our world that sadly is slipping away. It was reflected in how they played and coached. Heck it was even reflected in how they dressed on the sidelines, white shirt and tie/sport coat. I`m 62 years old and starting to see so much of my childhood/young adult hero`s pass away players and coaches. It`s life I know but that doesn`t make it any less sad. RIP Coach.

Since I was born in 1984 I was too young to really remember the Majors Era but one of my first and most memorable moments I have of UT is at 7 years old watching the 91 Notre Dame game with my dad and that amazing come back. I will never forget that moment.

Question for y'all:

Who will be the first walk-on to record a stat for us this season (not including special teams)?

I'm thinking it's a close call among Miles Jones, Fred Orr (maybe comes in late vs Charlotte like he did Chatt last year), Isaiah Montgomery, and Bryan Aiken. If Aiken really did stand out to scouts over Reggie Grimes, as the rumor was, can't wait to see him out there in some early season garbage time, just to see if he flashes some this year.

Mannnn watching the ‘97 FL game (have never brought myself to watch it, sorry for the painful memories). We blew it in so many ways in the 1st half.

Drop 2 ints on FL 1st TD drive.
Nash dropped pass, would’ve put us on the 5yd line. Next play, pick 6. 14-0
Next drive we start moving it and Nash fumbles.
Then we finally get a score, they muff a pooch kit and our guys weren’t covering full speed because the dude called fair catch. FL recovers, goes down and scores a TD before half. Missed PAT 20-7.

Just so many chances to make plays. Dropped passes all over the place while FLs dudes are coming down with some great contested catches.

95 and 96 game were equally blown. especially the 95 game. we were rolling in the 1st half. slept in the 2nd.

exact opposite in 96, were late to the party in the first half and by the time we woke up, just a tad too late.

if you could put manning's first half in 95 with his 2nd half of 96....that'd be a game worth remembering.

You can see that Chavis was finally figuring things out against FL. We’ve really shut them down pretty well. Not that great of play calling by Cut honestly. FL DL just teeing off. Should’ve been calling screen pass after screen pass and forced them to sit on their heels. But we’ve had every opportunity in this game. If Little holds onto that int on FL’s first TD drive he may very well take it all the way back.

And omg they just gave that TE a touchdown when he clearly dropped it. Boned by the refs time and time again vs FL

I'm at the beach with three of my best friends/co-workers and about 12-13 beers in. Life is great right now...but thank you.

I love my job and I'm happy all four are facing charges now.
Well if you’re that many in, feel free to tell us what you were referring to the other day with “😀@ob79

This summer, we all watch the 98 season live on YouTube each Saturday night leading up to ‘20 season opener. Same YouTube channel started at same time. Run a game thread for each one.

Or if you think that’s incredibly lame, then forget I said it and... LOOK A SQUIRREL!

I started following the Vols at the end of Doug Dickey's tenure and never got too excited about Battle but loved watching Holloway play. But my blood turned a deeper orange when Majors came marching home! I vividly remember the only time I was up close and personal with him was in New Orleans for that '86 Sugar Bowl. Me and my 3 buddies got on an elevator at the Hyatt and were joined by Johnny and Ken Donahue. This was the day before the game. I asked coach if he thought our boys were ready and he quickly responded with " they are chomping at the bit and can't wait to kick some 'Cane tail!" Didn't realize til today he had 34 assistants later become head coaches in both college and the NFL. An amazing legacy. RIP coach!
