I wish I had your faith. He looked so bad against Vandy and even worse in the bowl game. That's his last 2 games. He is not improving at all IMO
The Indiana game was pretty frustrating, 4 times inside the 10 in the first half and came away with 9 points. Let’s look at the sweep of our last 4 SEC games of the season in South Carolina, UK, Vandy and the Mizzou game though.

Against South Carolina, qb by committee with Shrout. JG was 11/19, 229 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INT

Against UK, qb by committee with Maurer. JG was 7/8, 115 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INT.

Against Missouri, 23/40, 415 yards, 2 TDS, 0 INT

Against Vandy (in the rain, 2 days after his grandmother died), 6/17, 120 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

All season long receiving death threats, etc etc. I freakin love the kids fight, and i think he has the talent to be a game manager at least. With the help of our offensive line, and talent at the skill positions, winning 2/4 of those UGA, Bama, UF, OU games is definitely doable

He's got the talent to be much more than a game manager. Some guys just put too much pressure on themselves and obsess over the bad plays to the point they can't cut loose and play. That's JG. He'll have streaks where he plays great and one bad play tanks him. I hope he figures it out this season. He's earned some success.

SC’s safeties were absolute trash this year and Mizzou was playing safeties at CB against us. I don’t give him much credit for that. Especially when compared to shrout who was leading receivers in the SC game whereas JG was throwing behind them.

The KY game was a thing of beauty though. Wish he could play like that all the time.

He is our Quarterback until he isn"t and we should support him accordingly. A vote of confidence and the second year under a good QB and OC coach could make a ton of difference. If he will loosen up and throw with more confidence then our offensive numbers will go up, but I put a word of caution here, that the Interceptions will also go up some. So far he has been fantastic on the low number of ints.

Can you give some background on how he is messing up on the recruiting trail? I was hoping he does well to compete with Clemson and their cupcake schedule.
For example, Pruitt is about to take all the north FL defensive backs. The ones that usually go to FSU and turn into high caliber players.

Chaney really does need to figure out how to play in the red zone. We're pitiful no matter who is QB except for Crouch dives. I hope the death threats were an exaggeration..

There definitely seemed to be a lack of imagination in the play calling. I love mis-direction plays against aggressive defenses and I do not remember seeing much of that at all, especially inside the twenty.

@Big Gucci Sosa

Can we get a page goin for Tim Amet? PWO committed today. 6'5" 395 lb lineman from Catholic.

OL/DL Tim Amet of nearby Knoxville Catholic High School has accepted an offer to be a preferred walk-on at Tennessee, according to Knoxville Catholic's official football Twitter account.

Amet is a massive lineman, listed at 6 feet 5 inches, 395 pounds on Catholic's official roster from last season.

Has HUDL too

We probably did not want to confuse our QB.

How much does it suck to be Jake Fromm right now? He leaves school early, drops deep into the draft, gets drafted by a team with an already established young QB in a cold city and now is facing the possibility of being cut after old racist texts surface.

He should probably stop stepping on rakes.

This could just be the beginning. Every player reporting to campus is going to be tested and I have to believe some guys are gonna test positive. If college football is played this year, it just may be in empty stadiums.
There is no if..college football will be played this year and I’d say in front of fans as well..Texas just approved 50 percent capacity already today

Random thought. I think we need at least 6 DL this cycle. We signed 2 true DL in 2020 the only 1 high school guy in 19. Hopefully some redshirt this season cause we’re gonna need it in 2021

Non starter. The more people that get this the better because they will be just fine. Most people have already had it anyway.

I’m sitting here reflecting on Johnny, and it brings me to probably the most polarizing topic of UT football for anyone over 35. Here’s the question I know everyone’s been asked:

“Are you a Johnny guy or a Phil guy?”

In this binary world that we live in (true especially today), you were almost forced to pick a side. Both sides had the perfect villain: a drunk in bad health who was polarizing to anyone around him or a scheming, backstabbing, coup leader whose only desire was to take control. In reality, neither absolute was true, but both men probably made a mistake or two they wish they could have back.

Isn’t it like that in our lives? We all have mistakes in our lives, yet we need forgiveness the same that we need to give forgiveness.

I never have been a Johnny guy or a Phil guy. It’s always saddened me to see and hear of the divide. Now we have a situation where it’s too late for reconciliation. In mourning the loss of Johnny, may we all do our best to look inside and see where you need forgiveness and seek ways to give forgiveness before it’s too late. Let this be our tribute to Johnny, yet with a far greater purpose in mind beyond just him.

Your post has weighed on my heart since I read it...I hope I can keep my promise to myself to seek forgiveness from those I've wronged and to let go of hurt and bitterness.
