Recruiting Forum Football Talk II

Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, etc. There are a few reasons I have never signed up for any of these apps. I still have my FB, but I get on about 1 time per 2-3 months just because my wife says "why didn't you like the photo I just posted!?!" to which I reply with "because of the reason why you are asking me to like it". I need to get rid of it. And this is coming from a 32 year old. I get wanting to "keep up with friends" and "follow my sports program", but:

1) How long has it been since you actually carried a meaningful convo with said person/people you are mentioning that you want to "stay in contact with"? If it has been over a year, good chance (realizing there are a few situations that are different) you actually don't care about the relationship

2) (just staying with sports here) there are many other ways like reading articles and fan sites where you get much more content than Twitter/Instagram/etc. A part of the fan experience is talking with a group of individuals who enjoy the same sport/team that you do (read Volnation here)

End rant. Man, I feel old now.

Thought I had heard CallOway might end up a DB. Fwiw
Meh, he's so underrated at WR. Us Vols fans don't truly appreciate what we got in him. Our WR class is stacked and I know we might even have "too many" options there but all 4 of them stay on the offensive side of the ball IMO. But what do I know, Alontae Taylor got moved to DB and has thrived.

Their about equal both high on self , both A-holes. One does believe in strength and conditioning.
One wins at a high level...so far. According to “dime a dozen” rationale, Saban doesn’t have better results.

Thanks for sharing.

"[Hubbard's] behavior toward Gundy mimicked the intolerant attitude of white bigots who attempt to relegate people who don’t look like them or think like them to an inferior status.

Sports used to be relatively free of divisive politics. No one cared about anyone’s presidential politics. Athletes, coaches and fans put aside their point-of-view differences and played, coached and enjoyed the games.

Social media is the cancer killing sports. It’s the cancer dividing locker rooms and America. Like cancer, we may never discover a cure. This is a tragedy.

Now we cancel teammates, coaches and colleagues who don’t share our views. It’s un-American."

Yeah the article cut that out. I saw the original and it was pretty clear she said it. She also posted photos with the n-word in the caption.

I don't have any context so don't know if this was her using it during the song or if it was just a weird n-bomb vid (ppl make really random stuff) but if she has used the word in captions a lot then she obviously has issues that need to be addressed and has no business on the cheer squad.

Dude. Making it seem like Fulmer is hiring African American coaches as strategy and not based off their coaching ability is pretty crappy. AJ Artis, Ansley, Shelton, all of them earned their job because they’re damn good at what they do. I doubt you truly believe that but just think before you type next time

Yeah, I'm not saying Hank or anyone else who points such things out intends it the way it comes out. But we've got this whole racism thing wrong. Hiring someone because they're black or implying someone was hired because they're black or even saying there are advantages to hiring someone simply because they're black is as racist as doing the opposite. And it's demeaning to them and their abilities.

It's also patronizing, and somehow I doubt that most African-Americans want to be patronized.

Hyatt and Wideman will be stars imo...potentially Beckwith. Calloway and Holiday I’m withholding predictions. Hyatt is my top pick due to raw speed and dedication to route running...kid WORKS. Not to mention being alpha male on 4 straight championship teams.

These kids today(that makes me sound really old) are sabotaging themselves with social media. I've seen so many stories of past social media postings coming back to haunt kids and affecting their futures in such a negative way. I don't condone racism, at all, but for many of these kids I'm not so sure it's blatant racism so much as it is blatant stupidity. They're looking to shock people, to garner attention, and they do it in the dumbest of ways with no thought of what may come from it.
